mt survey TRUTH IS OF NO COLOUR WWW.MALTATODAY.COM.MT SUNDAY • 6 JUNE 2021 • ISSUE 1127 • PUBLISHED SUNDAY AND WEDNESDAY maltatoday PAGE 3 SURVEY PGS 8-9 It's Ghawdix (not Ghawdex) The Carmelo Abela paradox €1.95 KARL FIORINI A bounce in Bernard Grech's trust rating from voters who pre- viously were steering away from either party leader, has done little to assuage the PN's electoral performance. In a MaltaTo- day survey carried out between Monday 31 May 2021 and Friday 4 June 2021 among 650 respondents, support for Labour continued its upward climb at the expense of the PN. Now 45.7% say they would vote Labour if a general election were to be held tomorrow as support for the PN slumped to 29.3%. That gap has now wid- ened further to over 16 points, which would translate into a differ- ence of almost 48,000 votes when analysing voter patterns in rela- tion to the last gen- eral election. And yet de- spite Robert Abela's trust rating sur- passing the 50% mark for the first time since last September, Bernard Grech's trust rating at 29.3% was an improvement of almost four points over his worst performance last month. Unfortunate- ly, it is the Nationalist Party leader's second month in a row where he scores less than 30%, putting the gap between the leaders at 21 points. Labour vote grows despite Grech trust bounce-back Julia Camilleri, a green voice from Gozo MT2 INTERVIEW Robert Abela's job has just got that bit harder PGS 14-15 Question and answer with the composer MT3 3 JOSANNE CASSAR "The state of the nation could be much, much better" MT2 Hondoq owners want €17 million from State for expropriation MATTHEW VELLA THE owners of the land at Ħon- doq ir-Rummien have told gov- ernment ministers they will re- linquish their rights to the land they want developed into a mas- sive 200-yacht marina with hotel and villas, for €17 million.
