Malta's police "passed with flying col-
ours" the scrutiny by the Financial Ac-
tion Task Force on both investigations
and prosecutions, Police Commission-
er Angelo Gafà told MaltaToday.
But he insisted there is still room for
improvement, stating the police con-
siders itself part of a larger structure.
The FATF decided last week to put
Malta on its grey list of countries under
increased scrutiny.
Gafà insisted the police corps was
well-equipped enough to investigate,
charge and convict cases of money
laundering.
30 cases of money laundering have
been brought to court in 2021 alone, he
said.
