3 LETTERS & EDITORIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 29 AUGUST 2021 Mikiel Galea Letters & Clarifications Mosta field: reparation I, Toni Fenech, the brother of Franġisk Fenech (Ċikku, Ta Vanġie- la) and Michaelangelo Fenech, apol- ogise to the Maltese people for the deeds of my deceased brother and any inconvenience these memories may have caused. There is a feud in the family, which unfortunately now, has been made public. It is a pity that Michaelangelo did not reveal his true feelings to- wards Ċikku while he was still alive. However, if he had, Michaelangelo may not have received certain gifts of value from Ċikku on his visits to Malta. The field should be made for the community to enjoy as there aren't many green public spaces in Mosta. This could be considered as a repa- ration from Ċikku to the community in which he lived. Whether there is a plaque or not is irrelevant as cer- tainly all of the locals in Mosta know who resided at the windmill. I, Toni Fenech, and family do not want politics to be part of this, and we thank the Maltese Minister to have the courage to preserve a part of Maltese history – thank you again. Toni Fenech New South Wales Moral blasphemy on abortion SEEING that no one took up the cudgels and in the midst of pro- choice extensive coverage at its highest activity in your paper, I sim- ply believe that what I am saying is right, I had to join the debating circle again. Have I to spoonfeed the original quotation as expressed in other words in my letter of 11 July? "Lie doesn't become truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't be- come good because it's accepted by the majorit." (Booker T.Washington). Prof. Isaebl Stabile's quote of the W.H.O.'s "abortion care is health care" does not hold water because the moral aspect takes priority over other considerations. For me it's the keeping of the Com- mandments that takes pride of place (Acts 5/29). Incidentally of all the requests for abortion published there was not one instance of danger to the mother or baby's health. The prevalent supplications were to "get rid of it". No wonder the word responsibility is the most common word uttered these days. Nobody wants to shoulder it. Yes, I never realised that this matter is so serious until Prof. Sta- bile and her ilk started her crusade, which prompted me to pinpoint two insightful and incisive opinions: "Abortion.. is the anti-Christ's par- ody of the Eucharist. That's why it uses the same holy words, 'This is my body' with the blasphemous opposite meaning." (Dr Peter Kreeft). Abortion is the attempt to cele- brate the victory of death over life, hatred over love and Satan over Je- sus. But that can never be! Reminds me of: "You killed the author of life and asked that a criminal be released to you in his place." Peter's strong rebuke in Acts (3:14-15). I can go back to the days of Isaiah: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness... (Isa, 5:20). John Azzopardi Zabbar
