maltatoday | SUNDAY •3 OCTOBER 2021 17 COMMERCIAL Marsovin releases Grand Maître 2019 MARSOVIN'S Grand Maître 2019, 'Annata Fra Marc'Antonio Zondadari' is to be released on Tuesday 5th October. This is the 22nd vintage of the prized and highly sought after flagship wine produced by the Maltese premium winery. The wine is produced by spe- cial appointment to the Maltese Association Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Each vintage is dedicated to a different Grand Master in chronological order, the first one being Philippe Vil- liers de L'Isle Adam for the 1998 vintage. The 2019 vintage was characterised by rather abnormal conditions for the Maltese Islands. Win- ter months were rather cold and exceptionally windy, whilst rainfall was average. Spring had milder temperature than average resulting in a slower grape maturity and leading to the latest grape harvest on record. The resultant wine produced, portrays the typical characteristics of this vineyard togeth- er with a specific vintage style of its own. Concentrat- ed red fruit aromas, with nu- ances of jammy fruit, hints of sweet spice like cinnamon and a touch of mint on the palate. An elegant, creamy mouthfeel with soft tannins and well-inte- grated new French oak on the finish. For information and orders of Grand Maître, you can call the Marsovin Cellars on 79231919 or send an email to cellars@marsovinwinery.com Melita embraces European Sustainable Development Week through multiple activities SUPPORTING women who have been victims of domestic abuse, adopting turtles, water- ing trees and cleaning up camp- sites are among the actions taken by Melita Limited and its employees during European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW). This Europe wide initi- ative, which took place between 20 and 26 September, promotes the 17 sustainable goals estab- lished by the United Nations to promote peace and prosperity. During ESDW, Melita em- ployees collected non-perish- able food, toiletry items and money to support residents at St Jeanne Antide, supported Nature Trust Malta by adopt- ing 40 turtles and volunteered at Wied Ghollieqa to water the trees at this important site. Employees also teamed up with Din l-Art Helwa to carry out a clean-up at the Majjistral Park. These activities and or- ganisations are also being sup- ported by financial donations either from Melita directly or through The Melita Founda- tion. Jaqueline Abela, Head of Hu- man Resources at Melita Lim- ited, said, "European Sustain- able Development Week is an opportunity to really focus on how we can contribute more effectively to the community we work in. While Melita has ongoing significant commitments to emission reduction, support- ing the environment more broadly, and providing assis- tance to those who are vul- nerable, it's great to be able to bring so many employees together around a particular initiative like this which helps deepen everyone's commit- ment."
