maltatoday | SUNDAY • 10 OCTOBER 2021 16 COMMERCIAL Your GoTo roundtrip journey this October will support breast cancer awareness Malta's multi-modal vehicle sharing platform will donate part of the revenue from Roundtrips in October to Europa Donna Malta IN honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, for an- other consecutive year, GoTo will be promoting breast can- cer awareness throughout the month of October through their Roundtrips service. As well as displaying a pink ribbon on their Roundtrips fleet, GoTo will also donate a part of its revenue gen- erated from the Roundtrips ser- vice to a local organisation that works towards raising awareness – and supports vital research and treatment – of breast cancer in Malta. "As a company, we are proud to support the good cause of breast cancer awareness by donating part of our Roundtrip rides rev- enue to Europa Donna Malta organisation, and by installing pink ribbons on our Roundtrip vehicles to create more aware- ness for passers-by," says GoTo Country Manager, Zach Berger- son. GoTo is a multi-modal vehicle sharing service provider, with a mission to reduce the number of privately-owned vehicles in cities around the world by offering in- novative travel alternatives such as shared electric cars and scoot- ers. Launched in Malta in 2018, GoTo covers all personal mobil- ity needs with one membership and one exclusive app, so that you will always have a conven- ient, affordable, sustainable and safe form of transport available to you. Alongside the One-Way and GoTo scooters services, Go- To Malta's Roundtrips vehicles offer the ideal solution for going shopping, sightseeing, for work meetings or whenever you need a car for a longer period. The user-friendly service, which can be booked up to three months in advance, involves simply picking up and dropping back the car to the same loca- tion. You also have the option of paying per hour and per kilo- metre, with rates starting from €3.99 per hour at €0.40 per kilo- metre, or per day and per kilo- metre, from €25 per day at €0.40 per kilometre. Wanna help us? So, hop in, go shopping, sightseeing or run er- rands and ride for a good cause with GoTo Roundtrips. LifeCycle Malta Foundation holds training sessions leading up to mammoth LifeWalk 2021 Challenge in UK LIFECYCLE (Malta) Founda- tion is organising daily train- ing sessions in the runup to LifeWalk, a 100-mile walking challenge on harsh terrain in just four days across Hadri- an's Wall in the United King- dom for charity 15-20 October 2021. The main sponsor for the challenge is NESCAFÉ who are backing up the LifeWalk 2021 Challenge. The team of LifeCycle (Mal- ta) Foundation started training back in January 2021. However, training sessions were put on hold for a few months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since training has restarted, sessions have been ongoing at gradually increasing difficulty and length, as par- ticipants are preparing for the herculean challenge of walk- ing across the United King- dom from one coast to anoth- er. Some athletes are currently walking between 6 to 10 hours a day, completing between 20 and 30 kilometres on a daily basis. The LifeWalk concept is sim- ilar to LifeCycle, which the Foundation has been organising for many years. In the case of LifeWalk, rather than complet- ing the distance by bike, chal- lengers will battle a long-dis- tance endurance walk over a shorter period of four days on historical trails in unpredictable weather. LifeCycle Founder Alan Cur- ry said: "Although this is not as challenging as cycling an aver- age of 180 kilometres a day as normally happens during the annual LifeCycle Challenge, walking 100 miles will push participants to their physical and emotional limits as they each walk an average of 40 kilo- metres per day for four straight days with early wake up calls and walking till exhaustion." LifeWalk Challenge 2021 is a project created by R.U.S.H. - The Renal Unit Support Hub by the LifeCycle Challenge Malta (VO No. 0529). At present, R.U.S.H. also pro- vides external help to renal pa- tients including free transport to evening treatment, free fit- ness sessions, free counseling advice and are now helping the foundation in creating a Wish- list for the year to come. LifeCycle (Malta) Foundation, the only NGO raising money to support renal patients in Malta, works hand in hand with the Renal Unit medical staff at Ma- ter Dei Hospital and the UM's kidney disease research team via the University's Research Trust (RIDT). LifeCycle Foundation also generates awareness about or- gan transplants in Malta. For more information, one can visit lifecyclefoundation. com or fb.com/LifeCycleChal- lenge.
