maltatoday | SUNDAY • 31 OCTOBER 2021 17 COMMERCIAL Malta's largest online marketplace has curated a brand new 'fresh' line of products MALTA'S largest online mar- ketplace, www.lava.mt is a carefully curated site with an ever-changing, fresh portfolio of products from the brands consumers love, all at amazing prices and just at the push of a button. The digital platform was developed by NIU, a lead- ing local web design and de- velopment agency and carries over 30.000 products giving customers easier access to top brands including Apple, Sam- sung, LG, Lego, Russell Hobbs and Dyson, just to name a few. The right technologies make a world of difference so to facilitate more business, the team at NIU developed and rolled out a series of user-friendly tools and pro- grams aimed at making the customer experience as easy as possible. The new tools include custom vendor land- ing pages and multivendor checkout processes, a ticket- ing system for help through- out the entire portal, landing pages for all top brands for ease and a wish list function- ality with auto reminders to remind customers when things are back in stock. And just like its traditional brick and mortar competitors, lava. mt offers an excellent rewards program for customers. The site is integrated with Malta's largest loyalty scheme and rewards system which allows customers to redeem and use points on the website. Lava.mt's latest push for new digital features and ser- vices comes at a time when online retailers are emerg- ing as a fast-growing digital channel in Malta . President George Vella visits the General Soft Drinks Company Limited PRESIDENT George Vella and Ms. Vella were welcomed by the President of the Mizzi Or- ganisation Mr. Maurice Mizzi together with the Managing Director of The General Soft Drinks Company Limited Bri- an Mizzi, and CEO Ms. Maria Micallef. After a brief meet- ing with the senior manage- ment team, The President and Ms. Vella were given a guided tour around the Company and shown the process of produc- tion, bottling, packaging, and distribution while also meet- ing several company employ- ees at their workplace. Pres- ident George Vella and Ms. Vella were also presented with a donation to MCCF by Mr. Maurice Mizzi. In his address, President George Vella thanked the management and employees for their continued support to the Malta Community Chest Fund and noted with satisfac- tion the importance the Com- pany gives to the environment and sustainability. Mr. Brain Mizzi spoke about the signifi- cant contribution of our oper- ation to the local community and the legacy of the Mizzi Family which transformed the company from being solely a soft drinks producer to a Total Beverage Company which now encompasses over 19 brands. Ms. Maria Micallef underlined the resilience shown by the Company's employees and the support of the shareholders during the difficult times of the pandemic which permit- ted the Company to retain all of its employees with full pay. She also highlighted the com- mitment of that the Company has towards social responsi- bility with an investment of over 1.6 million dollars by the Coca-Cola Foundation in the Alter Aqua program and Zero Waste Future program euros, which have left tangible lasting positive impacts in our society.
