The Firebird in Gozo with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Bomsori Kim Do you have a favourite violin piece that you like to perform? Who is your favourite composer? Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto is definitely my favorite piece to perform. Each time I play this music, I feel the warmth, happiness, grief, and all kinds of deep emotions and am able to connect with audience through this. What is your routine before a perfor- mance? Having some bananas for energy and a quiet moment alone to calm myself and focus. Which violinists inspired you to choose this career? My child heroes are the legendary Kore- an violinists: Young-Uck Kim who signed to Deutsche Grammophon 50years ago and also is my mentor and Kyung-Wha Chung, the leg- endary female Korean violinist. What are your artistic plans for the up- coming years? I am planning to explore new composers' works that I am excited about. I also look forward to various collaborations with many orchestras, conductors and other musicians. Performing in Malta for the first time with the MPO – what are your thoughts? It is very exciting that I will be discovering Malta and its people and culture. It will be to- tally new to me and I already got some mes- sages from people in Malta who say they are excited to see me! I am so grateful that there still is a possibility to be connected in this very difficult time. South Korean violinist Bomsori Kim looking forward to her first Malta performance
