maltatoday | SUNDAY • 21 NOVEMBER 2021 8 CHRISTMAS Pjazza Tritoni in Valletta to be transformed into Santa's city this Christmas SHAKIN' Stevens could not have described Christmas in a better way than he did in the classic song which is blasted round about December all over the world. It is that same feel- ing that locals and tourists alike will get to experience this year, as Fairyland – Santa's City will return to Valletta from the 3rd December to 2nd January 2022! FAIRYLAND promises to be exactly what anyone would ex- pect, following its first edition in 2019, as the entrance to Malta's Capital City will be transformed into an original adaptation of Santa's City, all set up to give the ultimate experience to children, and those who are still children at heart! Among the attractions ex- pected to return, Rudolph's Wheel will once again provide the best bird's eye view of Val- letta and neighbouring cities and the Ice Rink will be pro- viding quite a festive adrena- line rush!. Naturally, the man himself, Santa Claus will be in residence at Fairyland, ready to meet children from all over the world, compile his Naugh- ty and Nice list and even get a head-start on delivering gifts. Christmas Food and Drink will be available from Santa's nu- merous cabins, and there will also be a couple of surprises which we are keeping wrapped up nicely for the time being. "The return of Fairyland - Santa's City is another step for- ward in our path towards the normality, we strongly missed due to the pandemic. Through this event, we will be providing families with the opportunity to enjoy the Christmas spirit with their loved ones through a number of attractions aimed at nurturing the positive atmos- phere that the festive season is well renowned for in the Mal- tese Islands. The Ministry for Tourism and Consumer Pro- tection together with the Malta Tourism Authority will contin- ue working hard to assure that our country remains an enter- tainment bastion in the Medi- terranean," remarked Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo. "One thing is for sure, after not being able to organise Fair- yland last year, as VisitMalta we are really looking forward to, once again, give something back to locals and tourists alike, this Holiday season. Fair- yland promises to be an excit- ing day out for all the family, coupled with the best Maltese artistry who are already work- ing around the clock to create works of art which will dec- orate Pjazza Tritoni. We are proud to be offering something unique and special to all those who will be choosing to spend their holidays here in Malta," Dr Gavin Gulia, Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority stated. Fairyland – Santa's City opens on the 3rd December un- til the 2nd January 2022. More information and tickets will be available on www.visitmalta. com
