A quaint old farmhouse located at the edge of the de-
velopment zone along Triq San Pawl tal-Qliegha in
Mosta, on the road leading to Mgarr, could make way
for 11 terraced houses, if an application filed with the
Planning Authority is approved.
The application foresees the complete demolition
of the farmhouse which includes vernacular archi-
tectural features.
As proposed, the development includes 41 ga-
rages at basement level, 11 overlying dwellings on
ground and first floors and 11 receded washrooms
at roof level.
The 1600sq.m site in question, which presently
includes the existing farmhouse, set over one floor,
and a number of other rural structures with a gar-
den, was included in the development zone in 2006.
The development will rise to the same height of
other buildings in the same street but will increase
the massing of development on the same street
which still retains a rural charm.
Oliver Brownrigg, one of the owners of B.T. Com-
mercials, has presented the application and has de-
clared fully owning the site in question.
