maltatoday | SUNDAY • 19 DECEMBER 2021 15 COMMERCIAL Another two ZVART pieces unveiled by CareMalta CAREMALTA recently un- veiled two art pieces – Ever- lasting Memories and Tifkiriet – at Casa San Paolo and Rose- ville respectively. Everlasting Memories is a sculpture in lime- stone by Jennings Falzon, while Tifkiriet is a piece in acrylic art- ist ink and soft pastels by Steph- anie Borg. Both works of art are part of the Zaren Vassallo Art (ZVART) initiative launched by the Vassallo Group to celebrate its 75th anniversary. Finished in October, both Falzon's 1m x 70cm figurative piece as well as Borg's 63cm x 51.5cm drawing were commissioned by Care- Malta, the group's largest sub- sidiary. The idea to create Everlasting Memories originated from a crafts project by Gaetano d'Am- ico, president of the residents' committee at Casa San Paolo, who is always willing to help the home's management team in the organisation of activities and events. Through this work, Falzon portrays the concept of ever- lasting memories of loved ones, family and friends – which form part of the identity of each res- ident. The sculpture, carved out of natural local limestone, features an alto relief landscape in a frame and a couple in a beautiful location watching the sunrise. Borg's Tifkiriet (Memories) fea- tures a part of Roseville's archi- tecturally interesting facade, an elderly person sitting on a bench outside and a little girl with her dog. What inspired the artist in the first place was the home's facade. "But there's more to Ro- seville. It is the elderly residents inside who bring it to life and make it complete. I also wanted to put across the idea that even as one ages, wonderful memo- ries are still being created every day. Life does not stop with old age," Borg said. "The idea of having an older person chatting to a girl is to bring out the importance of the inter-generational aspect and pets as therapy. Having elderly parents who are both in their 80s and not having been blessed with knowing my grandparents, as they both passed away before I was born, also hits close to home." Among those present at the unveiling ceremonies were Naz- zareno Vassallo, chairman of the Vassallo Group, Natalie Briffa Farrugia, CEO of the CareMalta Group, Charlo Bonnici, chair- person of the ZVART commit- tee, committee members Joe Saliba and Stephen Borg, as well as senior management team members, the homes' manage- ment teams and a number of residents. Nestlé Malta drive for donation of clothes and food a huge success once again AS a socially responsible com- pany, Nestlé has always been driven by CSR and the commu- nities it serves. This is evident in the huge positive response to the clothes and food dona- tion drive which kicked off last month for the second consecu- tive year. Once again, the com- pany decided to renew its call for people with hearts of gold to help them out, and the result has exceeded expectations, with a staggering 1,701kg of clothing items collected, almost double the amount collected last year. Nestlé will match the weight of the donated clothes, in food items and dis-tribute them to the Malta Lifeline Foundation and Caritas Malta to be handed out to individuals and families currently lacking basic needs or going through social or eco- nomic difficulties. Initiatives such as this one are completely in line with Nestlé's pledge to engage with the lo- cal community in a sustaina- ble and eco-friendly way. They also give a platform too and empower employees and the general public to get involved in doing what is right for the community and for the envi- ronment.
