maltatoday | SUNDAY • 26 DECEMBER 2021 17 COMMERCIAL TBWA\ named Adweek's 2021 Global Agency of the Year THE Disruption® Company was recognised for its business growth, creative product, in- novation focus and strength around the world. TBWA\ was awarded the prestigious title of 2021 Global Agency of the Year by Adweek, the leading source of news and insights covering the brand mar-keting ecosys- tem. The creative collective was recognised for an excep- tionally strong business year across many global markets and its ability to drive Disruptive, transformative growth for its clients. Adweek also highlight- ed its body of creative work for clients including Apple, Nis- san and PepsiCo, among oth- ers, its focus on innovation and the progressive evolution of the com-pany's Disruption® methodology. TBWA\ANG is an award-winning integrated strategic marketing commu- nications and creative agency servicing clients in Malta. Firm- ly established in the market for over 50 years, TBWA\ANG is the leading Maltese strate- gic creative agency delivering a comprehensive ser-vice rep- resenting clients such as Mc- Donald's, Bank of Valletta and the Brown's Pharmacy chain amongst many others. "In one of the most competitive years Adweek's selection com- mittee has ever seen, TBWA\ Worldwide was unanimously selected as 2021's Global Agency of the Year," said David Griner, International Editor, Adweek. "Our editors were impressed not only with the network's business growth and consistently high bar for creative but also by its clear focus on developing strong talent and elevating a new gen- eration of innovative leadership for the industry." "Being named Global Agency of the Year—again—is a tremen- dous honour and a testament to the 10,000+ creative minds in our collective whose talent, per- severance and ingenuity made this recognition a reality," says Troy Ruhanen, CEO, TBWA\ Worldwide. "It validates our 'Always in Beta' mindset and our commitment to continuous innovation." Ruhanen added, "We are also grateful to our cli- ents for entrusting us with their brands. Without their contin- ued partnership and their belief in Disruption, none of this is possible." Earlier this year, the TBWA\ collective earned the #3 spot on Fast Company's list of Most Inno-vative Companies in the Advertising category, appearing on the list for the third year in a row. Adweek last selected TB- WA as its Global Agency of the Year in 2018. Desiree Zerafa, Managing Di- rector of TBWA\ANG added, "This global recognition is an in- credible testament to the power of the collective. We use the term 'collective' over 'network' as we have deliberately chosen to pursue a future that is open source, connected, not bur- dened by geography, and driven by a restlessness to innovate. I am incredibly proud of the TB- WA\ANG team, whose stellar work has played a part in receiv- ing this prestigious award. We are incredibly grateful to our cli- ents for entrusting us with their brands, without their continued partnership and their belief in 'Disruption', none of the work we do would be possible. We head into 2022 championing the TBWA\ flag in Malta and be- yond". MeDirect Bank's top tips to keep testing negative while staying positive in 2022 THE pandemic brought about huge changes to our lifestyle, to our plans and to our financial health. Having said that, Cov- id-19 didn't bring about neg- atives only - we had our take on baking, we spent more time with family and it also made us slow down on our daily errands and meetings. MeDirect Bank has compiled a list of steps that one must think about, especially now that most of us are slowly get- ting used to this new lifestyle. The prior restrictions pre- vented us from excess spend- ing and we were more cautious to where our money was going. However, it seems like we all adjusted to this new normality and are now back to spending, mainly in the run up for the Festive Season, however, Me- Direct Bank can guide you on how to manage your money better with some easy tips. You must have created some healthy financial habits through a pandemic year and it will be difficult to maintain them if life is somehow going 'back to normal.' Restrictions during the peak of the pan- demic helped those individu- als who wanted to save. They stopped all social events and cancelled all travel plans for us. This is slowly coming to an end as our social media feeds are once again full of friends and family members traveling and doing their utmost to make up for what they missed during 2020 and 2021. For those who would like to continue saving, it is time to prepare yourself to live a once again normal life, while staying loyal to your fi- nancial decisions. Start off by identifying the good behaviours you'd like to keep from the past year. How did you save? By putting away a lump sum as soon as you got your salary or did you cook at home more often? Some of us used this period to save up more for big purchases that they were always hesitant to save up for. Jot down your good habits and see what you'd like to stick with in 2022. Socialising may become more common, along with the expenses that come with it. To prepare for this new spending, keep your goals in mind and try to come up with a strategy on how to achieve these goals. Maybe by inviting people over at home instead of going out, or meeting for a coffee and dessert rather than a full-blown dinner? Have you ever played the waiting game? It works! Before taking any decisions on buying something, have a think about it and wait for at least a couple of days to make sure that you're making the right purchase and taking the right decision. This can prevent you from making spontaneous unneeded pur- chases that you might regret later. We all want the 'normal life' back as soon as possible, yet, there should be some hab- its that we developed that we would want to keep. It is essen- tial to see what has changed for the better in the past months and incorporate these in our daily lives before we forge ahead. Here's to a new year of testing negative, while staying positive!
