MALTAPOST plc registered €37.9 mil-
lion in turnover for the financial year
ended 30 September 2021, an 11.3% in-
crease over 2020, as all revenue streams
improved over the previous financial
year which was heavily impacted by
major disruptions due to COVID-19.
Postal revenues remained the pre-
dominant source of income at 87% of
the group's total revenues.
e total revenue for the financial
year ended 30 September 2021 also in-
cluded €0.4 million in insurance com-
mission following MaltaPost's diversi-
fication strategy to operate within this
sector through PostaInsure Agency
Limited (formerly Untours Insurance
Agents Limited).

THE PEACE project, an in-
vestment by GO of €25 mil-
lion in a third submarine
cable which will directly
connect Malta to France,
Egypt, and beyond, is enter-
ing its third and final phase.
The project, announced
last July, forms part of the
global PEACE System (Pa-
kistan East Afri-ca Con-
necting Europe) project – a
multi-million-euro connec-
tivity effort which consists
of a 15,000Km submarine
cable emulating the old ori-
ental silk route, connecting
countries across the globe
on its way from Asia to
France.
