maltatoday | SUNDAY • 9 JANUARY 2022 4 CULTURE What's on this January in Valletta ENJOY art and the magical at- mosphere Valletta offers this January. The quieter streets and winter serenity allow you to en- joy Valletta's charm to the full. The Christmas Lights will be on until the 6th of the month while you may continue to enjoy the light installation in South Street. We also invite you to the exhibitions as part of this month's programme. The Journey – Patrick Dalli Taking place between the 4th December 2021 and the 9th January 2022 at the Gran Salon of the Museum of Archaeolo- gy in Republic Street, Valletta, The Journey showcases no few- er than 34 paintings, including a bozzetto, centered on the artist's ongoing exploration of the human body. Often dubbed as 'Master of the Nude', Dalli does not intend to evoke sen- sual and sexual qualities in his depictions, but rather concen- trates on the beauty and sensi- tivity of the nude human body. The venue's Baroque splen- dour - including richly painted frescoes, exquisite arabesque cycles, a musicians' gallery and wooden beamed ceiling - will serve as the backdrop for this exhibition. TNAX: Lenti fuq il-Belt A small-scale photographic exhibition displaying the win- ning photographs of the TNAX project competition will be held between the 28th January and the 27th February at Is-Suq tal-Belt. TNAX is a curated photographic exhibition show- ing a monthly photo in St John Street, Valletta. Through the TNAX competition, the VCA invited everyone to reinterpret these topics - Believers, Never Look Back, Metropolitan and Music in the City - in their own way through photography. Colour in the City Following the success of in- stallations in South Street in 2021 a series of installations changing every four months will continue to bring colour and art to the streets of the capital. The lampshade installation in South Street inspired by the architecture of Valletta and created by light artist, Carl Caruana can be enjoyed until mid-January.
