maltatoday | SUNDAY • 6 MARCH 2022 4 CULTURE A rare opportunity of a guided tour around Fort Delimara this March HERITAGE Malta is offering the public the rare opportuni- ty of being shown around Fort Delimara by a guide, on Sunday 13th March. Fort Delimara is a historical site usually closed to the public. There will be eight guided tours in all. Those starting at 09.00, 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00 will be in Maltese while those at 10.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00 will be in English. Fort Delimara was built be- tween 1876 and 1878 to defend the approaches to Marsaxlokk Harbour. Among other attractions, it still retains four 38-ton guns in their original location. Visitors will also be able to appreciate recent cleaning and consolida- tion works and view new areas which were previously inaccessible. Participants are requested to buy their tickets before- hand and be by the fort's gate 15 minutes before the start of their respective tour, wearing comfortable shoes. Tickets are available at any Heritage Mal- ta museum or site, or online from:https://shop.heritagemal- ta.org/index.asp?eventid=970. Ticket prices are €5 for adults and €1 for children. Admis- sion is free for Heritage Malta members but they still need to pre-book, either at any Heritage Malta museum or site or else by sending an email on info.heritagemalta@herit- agemalta.org, including their membership number.
