maltatoday | SUNDAY • 24 APRIL 2022 14 COMMERCIAL M&Z expands product portfolio with acquisition of Red October business M&Z p.l.c. has recently ac- quired the business of Red October, a confectionary, wines, spirits and tobacco importer and distributor. In addition to expanding M&Z's existing portfolio of confectionery products, the acquisition also establishes the Company as an import- er and distributor of wines and spirits and as a supplier to the hotel, restaurants, and catering industry. As part of the acquisition M&Z is also taking on all current Red Oc- tober employees who wish to remain with the Company. Greta Camilleri, Managing Director of M&Z p.l.c., said: "This acquisition is an impor- tant milestone for M&Z as it enables us, for the first time in our 100-year history, to fully service the hotel, restau- rants, and catering industry. As our business continues to grow and develop, we re- main committed to making M&Z the leading import- er and supplier of the best known and most well-loved brands in Malta." M&Z p.l.c. is one of Malta's leading importers and dis- tributors of food, ice-cream, personal care, home care and baby care products. Estab- lished in 1922, the Company now represents many house- hold names such as Knorr, Bovril, Algida, Quorn, Ella's Kitchen, Vaseline and Ben & Jerry's as well as others such as Chicco, Colman's, Flora, Brut and Elmlea. The acquisition of the Red October business will add brands such as Kettle Chips, Walkers Biscuits and Werther's Originals together with several well-known al- coholic beverage brands such as Kopparberg Cider and the popular Yellow Tail and San- ta Helena wine ranges to the product portfolio. M&Z p.l.c. also recently completed a successful share offering to the public and began trading on the Malta Stock Exchange on 14 March 2022. More information is availa- ble at https://mz.com.mt/ Fort Fitness signs on as new tenant at the Quad Central THE Quad Central recently announced the addition of Fort Fitness, one of the island's larg- est fitness facilities, as its new- est tenant. This high-end fitness centre, fast establishing itself as the leading force for fitness, is slated to open its doors later on this year. This latest partner- ship consolidates The Quad's strategy for future growth and innovation and provides a space for clients to incorporate health and fitness activities into their workday. Once complete, the facility will feature a state-of-the art fitness studio, where members will have access to a full range of health, fitness and wellness services under one roof. The services available will include resistance and cardio equip- ment, strength training, a full and varied class schedule and most importantly, a unique ex- ercise experience. With over 140 exercise machines, a three- lane indoor track, a full pro- gram of instructor- led group classes and a boxing academy open to both adults and chil- dren, you will have the oppor- tunity to put your best foot for- ward in pursuit of healthy goals for 2022. On the tech side of things, Fort Fitness members are sup- ported with a dedicated app that keeps them up to date with class schedules and opening hours and tracks their fitness activities. Alongside the Fort Fitness centre, The Piazza levels will host a number of sevices and amenities, such as a Child Care Centre, Greens supermarket, the popular and healthy Dr. Juice eatery along with other well-known restaurants and cafés, as well as other amenities including Papier stationary and a dry-cleaning service. The car park can also cater for 1,500 vehicles, has bike racks and a car wash to cater for ten- ants and visitors.
