A court has appointed mental
health experts to examine two girls
who reported being sexually abused
by their stepfather, after they con-
tacted a social worker to withdraw
their accusations.
This as the compilation of evidence
against a 40-year-old man continued
before Magistrate Claire Stafrace
Zammit, in which he stands accused
of corrupting the two girls, aged 12
and 15, participating in sexual activ-
ities with underage persons and re-
peatedly committing sexual offences
on vulnerable persons.

CUSTOMERS who were sold cars with
tampered mileage are trying to sell their
cars to other auto dealers after reaching a
settlement, sources who spoke to Malta-
Today have said.
Car dealers speaking to MaltaToday say
they are witnessing a number of car own-
ers trying to resell their cars to used car
dealers, whose odometers' mileage do not
match up with JEVIC checks registered
before the cars were exported from Japan.
"An individual came to us trying to sell
us his car. After we carried out the nec-
essary checks on the JEVIC data base,
we realised the mileage displayed on the
odometer did not match," one dealer who
spoke to this newspaper said.
