maltatoday | SUNDAY • 31 JULY 2022 14 COMMERCIAL EY-Parthenon's Malta Future Realised Conference returns on 18 October following two years as a virtual event THE residual effect of the pan- demic and the start of the first conflict on European soil in the 21st century are having far-reaching consequences. With record inflation, impend- ing recessions, the advancing threat of climate change, weak- ened global cooperation, and a shifting global tax environment, we are living through unprece- dented times. Against this backdrop, EY-Par- thenon Malta is bringing back its annual flagship event on 18th October. The Malta Future Re- alised Conference (previously known as the Malta Attractive- ness Event) is well-established amongst private and public sec- tor leaders and brings together 1,000 CEOs, CFOs, entrepre- neurs, and investors to discuss foreign direct investment (FDI), business and the Maltese econ- omy. This year's event will focus on the international landscape and rising geopolitical tensions which are presenting formida- ble challenges for our businesses and citizens. High-profile inter- national speakers, local and in- ternational government leaders, and industry CEOs will lead the discussions. The results of the 18th Malta Attractiveness Survey, an annu- al study conducted among ex- isting FDI companies, outlines current investors' sentiments, Malta's strengths, weaknesses and where the country should be focusing its efforts. The full-day event will be split in three parts, kicking-off with a review of the global economy and the results presentation of the Malta Attractiveness Sur- vey. The second part will look at geopolitics, trade and business strategy in times of uncertainty whilst the third will analyse in- vestment drivers for a changing world, including global tax re- form, skills, digital and innova- tion, sustainability, renewables and infrastructure. The conference features a networking expo and thematic workshops, with early registra- tion and opening reception tak- ing place on the eve of the event on the rooftop overlooking the Grand Harbour. Ronald Attard, EY Malta and Cyprus Country Managing Partner and Central, Eastern, Southeastern Europe and Cen- tral Asia (CESA) Strategy and Transactions Leader, said: "We are thrilled to be bringing back Malta Future Realised in typical conference format after holding the event virtually for two years. We will once again hear from the biggest global companies and international institutions, stimulate debate, and generate ideas for a better, more sustain- able, and inclusive Malta. This year's discussions will focus on the resilience and adaptability that has become necessary for Maltese companies to thrive in a world of uncertainty. It is up to all of us to work together and make a difference." Simon Barberi, EY Director and Attractiveness Program Lead said: "For 18 years the Malta Attractiveness Survey has captured the thoughts of foreign owned businesses here on the island. The survey will be the basis of our discussions on the day, but we will also bring out some surprises as we intend to challenge the status quo, asking better questions that will lead to even better answers." Taking place on 18th October 2022 at the Mediterranean Con- ference Centre in Valletta, the event is being held in collabo- ration with The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. Both Neil and Andrew are sea- soned letting consultants who have formed part of #teamfrank for the past ten years. Neil has gained all the neces- sary knowledge and experience to make sure all parties involved are happy with the outcome. He is hard-working, organised and results driven. Neil already has plans in his new role. "I will be looking to make sure that the consultants already forming part of the team at Frank Salt, continue to thrive, both indi- vidually and collectively, whilst al- so upholding and maintaining the standards, respect and reputation that the company has built over the years and now enjoys. We will also be looking to grow the team by adding a couple of like-minded individuals looking to start a suc- cessful, long-term career in Real Estate" Neil added. Andrew is a fantastic team player with a positive attitude and always yearning for a challenge. Being a high achiever, he is also highly motivated to lead his colleagues; "my aim is to keep the Spinola branch a vibrant office, where my team is ready to roll up their sleeves and keep pulling the same rope together", said Andrew. Both Neil and Andrew are hold- ers of countless awards which they earned over the years, thanks to their hard work, commitment and dedication and they are al- ways willing to offer all the help and support to their colleagues. "We are confident that they will lead their teams by example and will offer the required support and guidance, to make sure all con- sultants in their teams reach their maximum potential", added Di- rector Darren De Domenico. This year, the company's letting division has seen a strong recov- ery, due to a substantial increase in demand as well as thanks to a fantastic team. A good number of promising letting consultants have been engaged in the past few months, who have also contribut- ed to this success. Letting Division Manager Philippa Tabone had this to say "These are well deserved appoint- ments for both Neil and Andrew, who have always been loyal, dil- igent and have always serviced their clients in a very profession- al manner. As we continue to expand our letting team to meet the ever-growing demand, we felt that it was the opportune time to appoint a letting branch manager for our offices in St Julian's and Spinola."
