maltatoday | SUNDAY • 23 OCTOBER 2022 13 COMMERCIAL Here, this was a good dream. We were together for seven days, and he is a splendid per- son, of exceptional humility and affability, but of great culture. I discovered at that moment that he also has a degree in astro- physics, and this makes us un- derstand a lot of the uniqueness of his person in my opinion. A great friendship was born be- tween us, and there is an episode that I want to tell because it is very beautiful and meaningful. It happened that with my man- ager Franco you wanted to take a gift for him, and what can you give to such a man, who already has potentially everything? So in Austria we bought him two spinning tops, just the game for children, obviously spending very little: May was moved, he told us that this gift made him go back to his three or four years, and that for this he will always be grateful. He will never forget it. Even if we had given him a re- al plane he wouldn't have been so happy. I believe that this gift, by touching particular keys of the human soul linked to child- hood, has created a particularly strong bond between us, similar to those that are sometimes cre- ated when we are children and that often last a lifetime. A really good story, as is the wonderful single with May, which came out with excellent feedback on YouTube a month ago. Covid-19 permitting, what are the dates of the next releases, and beyond? The first thing that was borne last February was an interview book on my story, the result of several meetings with a RAI journalist, which will be pub- lished by Male Edizioni, and which we will present on various television channels. The twelve- track album, on the other hand, will be released at the end of March, accompanied by the sec- ond single "La voce è musica" which is written by the afore- mentioned Francesco Sartori of "Con te partirò" and "Aria" by Gianna Nannini. Among other things, Sartori fell in love with my voice and told me a beautiful thing, namely that knowing me and my life was an important source of inspiration for him. So our tour happened in late spring, which was very special. We did not want to be like Boccelli, for example, who has an orchestra behind him: our musicians were instead almost hidden, while we the audience saw a gigantic vid- eo made specifically, which in my opinion has wonderful the- matic ideas, as well as dancers and a light show. On each date there was a high-level musical guests of honour, both national and for- eign: a kind of gift to the spec- tators, in the style of Zucchero with his jam sessions. All this was followed by a winter tour in theaters, going towards the goal of participating in the next Sanremo: reaching that goal and exceeding it will be our chal- lenge this year, as I prepare for my grand concert, together with my band, in Malta thanks to Dy- namic Events Limited, who have worked hard to make this con- cert possible. Interview conducted by Um- berto Baccolo, translated from Italian by Martin Vella ALREADY at its three-month mark from launch, the Malta ESG Alliance (MESGA) has been active through its founding members driving commit- ment with decarbonization projects, as well as through raising awareness and creating dialogue with the younger generations in schools and with national stakeholders and policy makers. Indeed, on 14 October, MESGA representatives joined students from St. Ignatius College Sec- ondary School in Handaq, Qormi, to collaborate in an awareness session on the topics of Climate Change, ESG and Impact Sustainability and the significant influence that businesses and individ- uals have and can have on society, as well as why MESGA was set up and what it aims to achieve. Rachel Galea from Malta Public Transport, Joseph Restall from International Hotel Invest- ments plc and Ivan Borg from Alberta Group ex- plained the sustainability initiatives they are car- rying out within their own businesses, outlining to students real scenarios of how local business- es are taking into account Impact Sustainability when operating. Representatives from EY, HSBC plc, GO plc, MedservRegis plc and Melita Ltd. were also pres- ent for this event. Students had the opportunity to present ques- tions and recommendations to the business com- munity and exchanged ideas and concerns with MESGA members in a collaborative setting in their school. As part of this event, 15 endemic saplings were also planted on school grounds, entrusting the future generations with the care of these plants. This was part of a commitment aimed to counter carbon emissions produced during the MESGA launch event held in July. During the same event, the official website for MESGA was also launched (https://maltaesgal- liance.com). This website provides information, ambitions and tangible actions related to the Al- liance and its founding members, outlines events and campaigns being undertaken and provides information on how interested companies could join the Alliance. It is worth noting that the founding members Alberta Group, APS Bank Plc, AX Group Plc, Bank of Valletta Plc, GO Plc, HSBC Bank Malta Plc, International Hotel Investments Plc, Mal- ta Public Transport Services (Operations) Ltd, MAPFRE Malta, MedservRegis plc, Melita Ltd, PG Group Plc and Toly Products Ltd., who are being supported by Perit David Xuereb, EY Malta and Ganado Advocates, are all working on their own decarbonization projects in a collaborative, committed and accountable manner. Ultimately, MESGA looks forward to welcom- ing more members with various experiences, re- sources, and sustainability best practices, so as to encourage and support like-minded ambitious businesses to collaborate together and lead the way in this journey of tangible impact on their business and the wider society and be a collective force for good. Collaboration with the future generations like the one of this morning, not only help students understand what businesses are doing, but en- courages businesses be accountable to the future consumers, employees, and stakeholders that ex- pect to live in a thriving economy.
