maltatoday | SUNDAY • 13 NOVEMBER 2022 18 COMMERCIAL Toyota Malta launches Toyota Warranty, a revolutionary 10-year car care service TOYOTA Malta has launched Toyota Warranty, a revolutionary service giving any Toyota owner up to 10 years warranty on a new car as well as in the case of second hand Toyota cars, up until the car is 10 years old. This is a first for the Maltese market. With that kind of peace of mind, one can focus on what matters most and with Toyota Warranty, one can relax, get in and drive safe in the knowledge that the car is taken care of along the way. Every new Toyota car comes with a 5-year warranty, after which every new service activates another 12 months/15,000 km ad- ditional warranty, with every qual- ifying service until the car is 10 years/160,000km old. All Toyota models qualify as long the age and mileage criteria are met, including passenger cars, light commercial vans and pick-ups. The protection also applies to every type of pow- ertrain, from market-leading hy- brids and conventional petrol and diesel models to advanced new battery electric vehicles. Toyota Warranty applies for every Toyota, including Japan and UK imports like the Toyota Vitz, Toyota Passo, Toyota Aqua, Auris or C-HR. If the vehicle is less than 10 years old or clocked 160,000km in terms of mileage, the vehicle can get the warran- ty provided through an initial manufacturer warranty from the vehicle's registration date was ex- pired followed by an additional 12 months/15,000km warranty with every qualifying service. Second, third and even fourth-hand vehi- cles traded privately or from oth- er outlets are eligible. Benefits to the customer include the enhancement of the vehi- cle's value by the presence of a manufacturer warranty. Toyota warranty covers the same parts and labour as the five-year man- ufacturer's warranty provided on new Toyota vehicles. It does not include wear and tear items, bodywork, paint, interior trims and maintenance parts. A vehicle health check is part of the ser- vice package, which includes all mechanical and electronic parts, which helps potential problems to be detected at an early stage. Any existing defects present at the time of service are excluded from the warranty. Work is carried out by qualified Toyota technicians, using Toyo- ta-approved parts. Toyota's cus- tomer-focused approach includes making servicing as convenient as possible, with options for col- lection and delivery of vehicle, free transport and while-you-wait servicing options. Customers can also benefit from our Hybrid Battery Extended Cover which ensures an additional cover for a total of 15 years. Cristian Attard, Senior Opera- tions Manager at Michael Debono Ltd, local importers of Toyota ve- hicles, said: "Toyota Warranty's unprecedented length and scope is founded on the world-famous quality, durability and reliability (QDR) of Toyota vehicles, re- nowned for delivering year after year of trouble-free motoring. Its design also makes it easy for the centre network to apply and man- age. The service is designed to be simple and easy for the customer to understand and benefit from, true to Toyota's customer-first approach to business." Emvin Cremona masterpiece restored through BOV's support 'OUR Lady of Lourdes with An- gels and Saints', by Emvin Cre- mona has been restored through Bank of Valletta's support. This titular painting, signed and dated 1968 by Cremona himself, and found at the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lourdes in Paola, is made up of nine sep- arate parts to make a whole. The vertical central painting depicting Our Lady is flanked by six smaller paintings, three on each side, de- picting angels, and two horizontal laterals placed towards the bot- tom on either side of the central painting depicting groups of fig- ures. The oils on canvas were fixed onto wood, with the lower paint- ings curving inwards to follow the contours of the church. The palette is typical of Cremo- na as he uses subtle and delicate colour tones including gold leaf that acts as a background for the six angels. The drapery folds re- tain the angularity and sharp ac- cents which are also characteristic of Cremona's painting style. Even though the gold dominates, the main importance was still given to the central painting which rep- resents Our Lady due to its posi- tioning. BOV Chief Risk Officer, Miguel Borg, met with Parish Priest Fr John Muscat and Pierre Bugeja from Prevarti, who were entrusted with the restoration works when the paintings were returned to their rightful place following the meticulous conservation and res- toration process. 'The restoration of these works is a commitment not to the past, but to the Future' said the BOV CRO admiring the beauty and prestige of these works. 'The con- servation of our rich cultural her- itage forms an integral part of the Bank's ESG Strategy, with the aim of preserving the identity of our unique Maltese Community.' 'The paintings were in a fair state of conservation, however the ac- cumulation of dust and dirt over time led to the paintings appear- ing darker than they were origi- nally,' said Pierre Bugeja. 'Another concern was that blooming had developed on top of the paint lay- er In the lateral paintings, with these issues reversed through the restoration process that respected the authenticity and original ma- terials according to today's best practices.' Fr Muscat concluded by expressing his satisfaction for the outcome of the restoration project and thanked Bank of Val- letta for its support.
