Made from 100% Maltese pasteurised cow's milk, the new Ġbejna Moxxa is a versa- tile cheeselet with a soft and creamy texture thus perfect for both spreading and cook- ing. On the other hand, the Ġbejna Sagħtar u Kosbor, is semi-hard and with the dis- tinctive Mediterranean fla- vours of thyme and coriander. These new ġbejniet are the perfect addition to any dish such as pasta, salads, pies, plat- ters, Maltese bread or simply to enjoy on their own or with local water crackers (galletti). Malta Dairy Products has been producing Benna Ġbejna made from pasteurised cow's milk in sealed vacuum packag- ing, since 1990. The company prides itself in being the only local company to have been offering safe dairy products to the Maltese market for over 80 years. Consumer safety is en- sured without compromising the fresh taste and nutrition of our local dairy produce. This is achieved by the continuous monitoring of the complete supply chain from farm to fork, including pasteurisation. Malta Dairy Products Ltd is a subsidiary of KPH Group, a Cooperative that brings to- gether local dairy herdsmen and has been providing fresh milk and other milk products to the local community since 1938. THE 57th edition of the Na- tional Competition and Exhi- bition of Photography, which is organised annually by the Malta Photographic Society, opens on Friday 2 December 2022 at Pala- zzo de La Salle in Valletta, the seat of the Malta Society of Arts (MSA). This yearly appointment, the only one of its kind on the is- lands, attracts a large number of local photographers who sub- mit their best works to compete for the honours awarded by the Malta Photographic Society. As part of the competition, which was concluded in October, the works with the highest artistic qualities were chosen to be dis- played at the MSA. Through this event, the Malta Photographic Society offers the opportunity to its members and others who practice this form of art to have their works exhibited, an opportunity not always avail- able to many individual pho- tographers. The Society places great importance on offering exhibition spaces to photogra- phers, putting them on par with artists in other art forms, giving photography the prominence it deserves. On its part, the local photographers' community is highly appreciative of the Pho- tographic Society's efforts, and the increased engagement is also reflected in the rising number of participants in the competition. This year 74 photographers submitted around 700 photos for the competition. From these, the jury chose more than 100 works that will be exhibited as printed and framed photographs, as well as over 110 digital photos to be displayed on a monitor. The ju- ry was made up of eight experts in the field of photography, who had the arduous task of picking the winners in each category and choosing the photos that will form part of the exhibition at Palazzo de La Salle. The competition honoured photographs in the four cate- gories of Colour Prints, Mono- chrome Prints, Colour Projected Images and Monochrome Pro- jected Images. Each of these cat- egories was awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Honourable mentions were given for quali- ty works that did not make the top three places. Special awards were also given for the Best Por- trait, Best Landscape, Best Still Life, Best Nature, Best Archi- tecture, Best Creative and Best Street Photography works. The stunning winning imag- es all but highlight the selected photographers' eye for details, their creativity, originality and technique. The Malta Photo- graphic Society is also proud that this 57th edition of the competition saw an increased interest from young and female photographers. This diversifica- tion of the participants augurs well for the competition's future. The 57th National Competi- tion & Exhibition of Photogra- phy 2022 organised by the Mal- ta Photographic Society will be open from Friday 2 December to Thursday 22 December 2022 from Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm, Saturdays 9am to 1pm, and closed and Sundays and Pub- lic Holidays. Entrance is free. Anyone who would like a guide should contact the MPS on in- fo@mpsmalta.com.
