The annual international LGBTIQ+ event features a Pride Parade and Human Rights Conference and is hosted by a different European city each year. Through this part- nership, Coca-Cola aims to foster inclusion and optimism in busi- ness and outside the workplace. As a company that believes in promoting diversity and inclu- sion, Coca-Cola is eager to sup- port and help raise awareness of the importance of creating a world where everyone feels ac- cepted and valued for who they are. Coca-Cola supported the most recent World Pride events in New York (2019), Copenha- gen (2021) and Sydney (2023) and were the main official partner for Euro Pride 2022, in Belgrade, Ser- bia. Malta Marks 31 Years of Euro Pride As one of the highest-ranking countries on the Rainbow Index over the last five years, Malta promises to offer a haven for cele- bration and sunshine. Hospice Malta hosts its 34th annual general meeting HOSPICE Malta, Malta's fore- most non-governmental or- ganization dedicated to pro- viding compassionate care for patients and their families, recently convened its 34th An- nual General Meeting at the President's Palace. The meet- ing served as a platform for Hospice Malta to update the public on its achievements, challenges faced, and upcom- ing initiatives. Bernadette Bonnici Kind, Chairperson of Hospice Mal- ta, addressed the distinguished guests, providing an update on the progress of the St. Michael Hospice project in Santa Ven- era. Despite encountering var- ious challenges along the way, the committee overseeing the project demonstrated unwa- vering dedication, ensuring its continuous advancement. Bonnici Kind expressed con- fidence in the completion of the ambitious project this year, setting the stage for the seam- less transition to the new facil- ity. Hospice Malta will also pro- ceed with establishing In-Pa- tient Unit, a groundbreaking initiative requiring the recruit- ment of other skilled profes- sionals. Bonnici Kind high- lighted Hospice Malta's recent visit to Hospices in the UK as part of the exercise targeting continuous networking and sharing of information on best practices. During her address, Bonnici Kind emphasized the crucial role of continued fundraising efforts. The funds raised con- tribute to ongoing projects but also sustain the provision of free services to the commu- nity in Malta. She expressed gratitude towards the gener- ous support received from the Maltese and Gozitan commu- nities, as well as government bodies, the European Union, local businesses, and other lo- cal Foundations. She conclud- ed her speech by commending the Board of Governors, staff members, and volunteers for their invaluable time and un- wavering dedication to ensur- ing Hospice Malta's continued provision of services to pa- tients and their families free of charge. Whilst showing the relevant tatistical information for the year, Kenneth Delia, CEO of Hospice Malta, also shared poignant stories illustrating the transformative impact of Hospice Malta's support on patients and their families. One such account featured a 68-year-old patient, a mother of four and grandmother of five, who availed herself of Hospice Malta's services for approx- imately 10 months. Hospice Malta's assistance significantly alleviated the burden on the patient and her family, ensur- ing attentive care through the range of palliative care services provided at the patient's home. During the meeting, Vladimiro Comodini, the Treasurer of Hospice Malta, presented the annual financial statements for the year ending December 2022. The financial audit report issued by auditors from Price Waterhouse Coop- ers affirmed the organization's sound financial management and good governance. The meeting ended with a re- minder to the public, govern- ment and business community to continue making their dona- tions and show their support to Hospice.
