To- day the Group cares for over 1,600 residents and employs a workforce of over 1,400 high- ly dedicated and well-trained personnel. Thirty years ago, the vision of Mr. Nazzareno Vassallo, the Founder of Vassallo Group, to build something with a social purpose, materialized, on the 1st of August 1993, into the first home for the elderly in Mosta, Casa Arkati. Through this home, CareMalta, which at that time was Healthcare Ser- vices Limited, created an inno- vative model of care and set the standard in this sector. For thirty years, CareMalta created exceptional services for the elderly, while time and effort have been invested into the area of disability and men- tal health with the introduction of HILA- CareMaltaGroup's specialized arm, which offers a range of services including res- idential, respite, and day ser- vices with a person-centered approach. During his speech, CareMal- ta Group CEO, James Sciriha, stated how the Group looks forward to taking the services offered to Gozo, in the com- ing months – Dar San Guzepp in Għajnsielem, Astra, another project of HILA Homes and Dar Sant'Anna, a project which will see a new service in Seng- lea. James Sciriha also men- tioned, how high-quality care is non-negotiable at CareMalta Group. "We have an exception- al reputation of care and that is definitely our biggest strength. Also, our experience, of 30 years working in this field gives us the strength to remain the leaders in care." In her address to the residents, their relatives and employees during the event held at Casa Arkati, Vassallo Group Chair- person, Natalie Briffa Farrugia, explained how 30 years of Care- Malta Group meant 263,000 hours of care, day and night. "Thirty years ago the homes for the elderly in the communi- ties were a blessing not only for the residents and families that moved to a long-term care set- ting, but also for almost all our employees and that through compassion, engagement, and professionalism we can contin- ue to care for one another. This will continue to distinguish us as the leaders in care", conclud- ed Natalie Briffa Farrugia. Being leaders in the care sector since 1993, Caremalta Group has always managed to gain the residents' full trust and ascer- tains that each and every mem- ber of the team works each day with a proper sense of integrity, where quality is non-negotia- ble, and where safety is central in all practices.
