maltatoday | SUNDAY • 27 MARCH 2022 OPINION 3 LETTERS & EDITORIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 27 AUGUST 2023 Mikiel Galea Letters & Clarifications Msida Creek concerns THE visuals produced by Infrastructure Malta for the Msida Creek project show a vast improvement on the current sit- uation. The open square in front of the parish church will create a new com- munity space for residents, especially during the feast of St Joseph. However, I have two concerns. One relates to the proposed new canal. I like the idea and it may be effective to alleviate flooding in the area but unless it is maintained well, it risks turning into a waterway of stagnant water full of waste. I hope the authorities will ensure its continued maintenance over the years once it is built. The second concern relates to the traffic management while the new fly- overs are being constructed. I hope the temporary re-routing of traffic with adequate signage is nothing more than optimal to minimise as much as possi- ble congestion and unnecessary frus- tration while the project is being con- structed. Otherwise, the new plans are a vast improvement on those originally unveiled in 2019. M. Chircop Gżira Thank you, Caritas WE often hear statements in the media asking people to seek help if they have an addiction of sorts. Caritas is one of those organisations that provides help to countless individuals who are suffering the consequences of drug, alcohol or gambling addiction. It also has support groups for relatives of those impacted by addiction. Allow me the space to thank Caritas, its workers and volunteers for the invaluable work they do with the most vulnerable. Charles Muscat Naxxar Robbie Williams obscured THE Robbie Williams concert at the Granaries brought back a lot of beautiful memories. He remains the showman he always was. My only gripe on the concert is the scaffolding that was put up in the middle of the Granaries that partially ob- scured my view of the stage. The organ- isers should have been more attentive to the needs of concert-goers when planning the logistics and layout of the venue. Sharon Dimech St Paul's Bay
