"I am from Gaza, my family is all there. All the time I watch the news or wait for the phone call to tell me that someone I know has died," she told MaltaToday with a heavy heart. On Tuesday afternoon El-Nahhal, an Arabic Language Centre direc- tor joined Palestinians and Maltese supporters at Valletta to protest against the ongoing Israeli siege on Gaza that has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people. Carrying a huge Palestinian flag, and a banner of children who died in the conflict, El-Nahhal chant- ed 'Hurriyeh' (the Arabic word for freedom) and sang before speakers addressed the crowd. JAMES DEBONO A Eurobarometer survey conducted in June and published last week shows that approximately one- third of the Maltese population feels tired and worn out. Only a fifth of respondents reported feelings of tranquility and calm. Notably, Malta emerged with the second-highest proportion of individu- als who experienced emotional and psychosocial challenges in the past year. On a broader European scale, almost half of the respondents across the EU (46%), admitted to grappling with emotional or psychosocial prob- lems like depression and anxiety in the last 12 months.
