T he buzz around Artificial Intel- ligence (AI) is hard to miss, and it's undoubtedly transforming the landscape across various domains. It's exciting but also a bit problematic, espe- cially considering its effect on job securi- ty. Many wonder whether a machine will take over their job one day. is article aims to shed light on this concern and offers a straightforward checklist to gauge how safe your job is amidst the AI tide. Getting to grips with AI and automa- tion is a good start. e use of these technologies is increasing because they are highly successful at effectively car- rying out a wide range of tasks. For in- stance, AI can sift through mountains of data and fish out crucial informa- tion in a snap, a task which would take hours for a human to complete. Different jobs will be affected by AI in different measures. In factories, for instance, robots have taken over tasks like assembling car parts, which humans once did. In banks, customer service has swiftly embraced AI, with chatbots now answering routine cus- tomer queries. Knowing how much AI is changing your workplace is essential. To get a clearer picture of where your job stands, here's a simple checklist you can follow: Routine Tasks Jobs often comprise repetitive tasks or follow a particular pattern. For in- stance, entering data into a spread- sheet, responding to common custom- er inquiries, or processing standard transactions are tasks that don't change much daily. So, if a large part of your job involves repetitive tasks, there's a higher chance that AI could be programmed to per- form those tasks. However, it's not all doom and gloom. Identifying these tasks can also be the first step to en- hancing your role by finding ways to incorporate more varied and strategic functions that AI can't tackle. Unique Skills Certain skills are inherently human and complicated for machines to rep- licate. ese include understanding and interpreting emotions, thinking creatively, brainstorming innovative solutions to complex problems, and interacting empathetically with others. If your job requires a high degree of these human-centric skills, it's less likely to be entirely overtaken by AI.
