maltatoday | SUNDAY • 19 NOVEMBER 2023 5 THEATRE Ġambori Festival: embracing active ageing through the performing arts TEATRU Malta presents Ġam- bori - a three day festival de- signed for spirited individuals aged 60 and above who embody the essence of youth at heart! Ġambori is more than just a festival, it's a celebration of em- powerment, providing those in their sixties and beyond with an opportunity to lead meaningful, healthy, and active lives post-re- tirement. Ġambori promises to be an annual event that showcases the creative skills of Każin's 60+ members, presenting two theat- rical productions: "Il-Madonna tiegħi aħjar minn tiegħek" and "L-Għatisa." Każin 60+ is under the guidance of Creative Work- shop Leaders Charlotte and Jo- sette, which aim to enrich the lives of its members through the performing arts and active en- gagement. "L-Għatisa" is a classic short story written by Anton Chekhov and adapted by Paul Portelli ex- plores the intriguing scenario of what happens when an employ- ee sneezes on his manager. "Il-Madonna tiegħi aħjar minn tiegħek" is a re-adaptation of an Operetta on the Maltese village feasts. Written by Trevor Zahra, music by Alex vella gregory, and adaptation by Marta Vella. The festival will feature song and dance workshops by re- nowned artists, complemented by a variety of interactive activi- ties tailored to promote an active lifestyle for the cherished 60+ population and their families. Taħdita Teatru will also be held on Friday evening which invites participants to engage in the dis- cussion behind the creative pro- cess of the shows. On Saturday morning , resi- dents of Saint Vincent De Paule can participate in a Movement Workshop by Rochelle Gatt, promoting exercise and enjoy- ment. In the evening, the Jazz Trio; Paul Giordimaina on piano, Sammy Murgo on saxophone, and Tony Bartolo on vocals, will be putting on a musical perfor- mance. DJ Spenser will then be hopping in the DJ booth to spin some classics for all to enjoy! Sunday's festivities include a lively "Morning Coffee" session with Frank Zammit and Trevor Zahra, blending the classic game of Bingo with a linguistic twist: "Bingo with words." Trevor Zahra, the es- teemed author, will then cap- tivate the audience by reading from his own books. Mark your calendars for Ġam- bori from November 24 to 26!
