MALTA'S women's national football team
made history with its promotion to Group
B in the UEFA Nations League, securing the
top spot in their group with a 2-1 comeback
victory against Latvia.
The match, witnessed by a record-break-
ing crowd for a women's match of 1,008 at
the Centenary Stadium, marked a signifi-
cant moment for Maltese women's foot-
ball.
Malta needed to either win or draw to se-
cure promotion to Group B, while Latvia
needed to win by a margin of more than
one goal for promotion.
Despite dominating throughout the
League C1 campaign, the Maltese team
conceded their first goal of the season in
the 51st minute, heightening anxiety.

THE Maltese would like the 1c
and 2c coins abolished and re-
placed by a mandatory rounding
of prices to 0 or 5 cents, a Euro-
barometer survey shows.
The survey found that 62% of
the Maltese would like the low-
est euro denominations round-
ed up or down depending on
which sum is closer.
