Respondents aged between 36 and 50 and those aged be- tween 51 and 65 were the most likely to say that they will be spending less than last year (13%). These two age groups which includes families with dependent children, were also the most likely to say that they will be doing their best to keep within last year's budget. A breakdown by regions shows that it is respondents living in Gozo who will be spending less on their Christ- mas lunch (16%). These are followed by respondents in the North Harbour(12%). Methodology The survey was carried out was carried between 28th November 2023 and6th December 2023 for which 650 people opted to complete the survey.Stratified random sampling based on region, gender and age was used. Afraction of those who opted to complete the survey chose not to answer afew of the questions for which they are treated as missing values. Missingvalues analysis was then carried to determine the type of technique toreplace the values. A combination of logistic and linear regression withpredictive mean matching where applicable was used to replace certainmissing values completing and enlarging the sample set from which thefinal results were extracted. The margin of error for this result 3.84% for a confidence interval of 95%.
