COMMERCIAL 12 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 31 JANUARY 2024 THE Blossom Project, which provides vital counselling and psychotherapeutic services to hundreds of schoolchildren in nine state schools, can continue to flourish with €60,000 worth of support. This follows a three-year sponsorship agreement signed between the Malta Trust Foun- dation and the Tumas Group for the former's provision of psychosocial support to em- power children and bolster them with the skills to face life's challenges. First set up at St Paul's Bay Primary School in 2016, the Blossom Project was the first of its kind to offer timely and effective support to children, young people, their families, as well as school staff in state-run colleges. The lack of psychosocial sup- port in early years has a direct impact on mental wellbeing and mental health in later years, which is why the Blossom Pro- ject was born, spearheaded by Malta Trust Foundation chair Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. Today, with the financial support garnered from the business community, amongst which the above noted Tumas backing, the Malta Trust Foun- dation has been able to sustain and expand this essential coun- selling services to nine schools. The Foundation's scope is to add value to existing servic- es and the Blossom therapists work hand in hand with the rest of the professionals with- in the psychosocial teams to strengthen their relationships and support towards the stu- dents who make use of their services. €60,000 sponsorship agreement for Blossom Project Atlas Insurance donation to SOS Malta in aid of children in Gaza Eden Cinemas unveils state-of-the-art laser projectors in all cinemas ATLAS Insurance has this year reaffirmed its commitment to global well-being with a dona- tion to SOS Malta's overseas development aid initiative. The donation was presented by At- las Insurance CEO Matthew von Brockdorff to SOS Malta Founder Member and Board Administrator Claudia Taylor East. The funds donated by Atlas Insurance will be passed on by SOS Malta to the international NGO Save The Children and will be dedicated to alleviat- ing the hardships faced by the long-suffering children of Gaza, helping to provide them with much-needed relief and hope in this time of war. The dona- tion will specifically be used to finance play structures that cre- ate safe spaces in which children can engage in fun and educa- tional activities under the pro- fessional supervision of social workers as part of a psychoso- cial aid programme. Matthew von Brockdorff commented: "This donation reflects our deep concern for the well-being of those who are most vulnerable and our aware- ness that, in times of war, the impact on innocent lives is im- measurable. I am proud of Team Atlas for responding generously to this fund-raising initiative, in the spirit of our culture of com- passion and genuine desire to contribute to improve the lives of others in meaningful ways." The funds raised through the collective efforts of employees, combined with the company's contribution, resulted in the sum of €3,000 being handed over to SOS Malta. Whilst thanking Atlas Insur- ance, Claudia Taylor East on behalf of SOS Malta stated: "Amidst the chaos of war, let us be the architects of hope for the innocent children caught up in its crossfire. Together we can make a difference."
