13 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 21 FEBRUARY 2024 CULTURE HERITAGE Malta is calling all history and national heritage en- thusiasts to brace themselves for a colourful journey in the heart of what makes us who we are, by joining the activities listed in its newly launched calendar. Comprising more than 100 ac- tivities, the calendar is designed to delight both the general pub- lic and people with more specif- ic tastes, and caters for all ages. The activities offer a full se- lection of experiences – from cooking sessions, curious ad- ventures and courses on na- ture's creatures for the youngest among us, to special openings of normally closed sites, activ- ities linked to old traditions, sea tours, talks by curators and former shipyard workers, guid- ed walks, unique exhibitions, equinox and solstice experienc- es, and exclusive activities for members, amongst many more. This year the calendar is also endowed with activities organ- ised as part of the maltabien- nale.art programme, to be held between 13 March and 31 May. Organised by MUŻA – the National Museum of Art, on be- half of Heritage Malta and Arts Council Malta, in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade and the Malta Tourism Author- ity, the maltabiennale.art is the first initiative of its kind in our country. Further information about it may be obtained here: https:// maltabiennale.art/ Heritage Malta CEO Noel Zammit commented that it is Heritage Malta's duty not only to safeguard our country's rich heritage entrusted to it, but al- so to deliver it in an accessible and attractive manner to the public for appreciation and en- joyment. He said that this calen- dar of events embodies this mis- sion, and urged the Maltese and Gozitan public to participate and take advantage of Heritage Malta's Passport schemes. You may access Heritage Mal- ta's calendar of activities here: https://issuu.com/heritagemt/ docs/hm_events_calendar_2024 or by visiting Heritage Malta's main museums and sites where you will be able to obtain a phys- ical copy in the coming weeks.
