In a barebones arraignment lasting less than five minutes before magis- trate Caroline Farrugia Frendo on Tuesday, the man, 43-year-old Naz- zareno - also known as Ronald - Dal- li, pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, illegal arrest and attacking the girls. He was also charged with carrying a knife in public without a police permit and possession of a weapon during the commission of an offence, as well as with cocaine possession and acting as a private guard without a licence.
