The event, organised by Dr Charlene Vella from the De- partment of Art and Art Histo- ry, drew photography enthusi- asts, art aficionados, students and the general public, offering an exclusive insight into Agi- us' illustrious career spanning decades. Agius, celebrated for his evoc- ative portraiture and iconic celebrity captures, captivated the audience with anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories, and invaluable lessons gleaned from his vast experience in the world of photography. From his early beginnings to his global acclaim, Agius took attendees on a journey through his evolution as an artist, show- casing the diversity of his port- folio and the depth of his crea- tive vision. The lecture served as a tribute to Agius' contribution to the art of photography, highlight- ing his ability to immortalise moments, evoke emotions, and capture the essence of his sub- jects with unparalleled finesse. He is an internationally acclaimed photographer known for his iconic portraits of celebrities. With a career spanning over three decades, Agius has es- tablished himself as one of the foremost photographers of his generation, garnering praise for his distinct style and evoc- ative imagery. His work has been exhibit- ed in galleries and museums worldwide and has graced the pages of leading publications, cementing his status as a true visionary in the world of pho- tography. Lorenzo Agius will be holding his first exhibition in Malta - a retrospective exhibition that will be curated by Dr Charlene Vella - that will be held in the last quarter of 2025.
