These classes will be two hours long and will take place at ŻfinMa- lta studios in Valletta. Nico's class will be held on 13th April at 10:00 and tickets are availa- ble here. ŻfinMalta Dance Intensives are curated as themed experi- ences, focusing on a particu- lar movement technique and exposing participants to guest teachers commissioned who contribute to company danc- ers' training. Nico Monaco will lead a con- temporary workshop for dance practitioners from 15 years and over, this intensive is aimed for Dance students and praction- ers looking for an immersion into new techniques and vo- cabulary as well as adults who want to get physical. In his workshops, Nico draws from his experience with renowned choreographers the tools that allow the dancers to increase the knowledge of their bodies and their movement by com- bining technical exercises and guided somatic improvisation. Nicola Monaco trained in Italy where he attended the professional course of Ater- balletto under the direction of Mauro Bigonzetti. In 2012 he was appointed as rehearsal director for Zfin Malta Dance Ensemble. He also restaged AKC repertory at Stuttgart Ballet, Stanislavsky Theatre, Introdans, IT DANSA. Nicola also holds the official qualifica- tion to teach the Double Skin/ Double Mind methodology of ICK/Amsterdam (Emio Greco/ PC). Elena Ciavarella will be in Malta on 27 April and she will lead a contemporary workshop for dance practitioners for 10 – 14 years old as well as 15 years and over, the class will take place at ŻfinMalta studios, Valletta at 10:00. Tickets can be purchased on Showshap- pening. Elena's intensive is an in- clusive workshop targeted towards mixed ability partic- ipants. Participants with and without previous dance train- ing are welcome to join in the ŻfinMalta intensive led by Elena, which is based on floor work and leaps from a somat- ic starting point. The training provided by Elena within this intensive is inspired by the Piso movil system, some fly- ing low techniques and makes use of the notions of the spi- ral, pushing, pulling with the overarching aim of reaching the vertical from the ground. Elena Ciavarella started his training in contemporary dance in France, at the CNR of Bou- logne Billancourt, she danced for several companies in France and Italy: Opus ballet, Rome Opera, cie Faizal Zeghoudi, cie Redha, cie Eva Luna, Collectif Dynamo, cie Ezio Schiavulli, Teatro all'improvviso, cie Ara- besque, cie Nadège Cabisidan. In 2008 she founded Collettivo Unico, with which she carried out numerous research pro- jects in collaboration with in- ternational companies such as Delfos (Mexico), Cortocinesis (Colombia), Adarte (Italy), Cie Ezio Schiavulli (Italy). She ac- tually teaches for the Calabash dance school under the direc- tion of Wayne Barbaste in Ly- on.
