Written, originally in French, by Yasmina Reza and translat- ed into English by Christopher Hampton, this new production of 'God of Carnage' which will be performed at Teatru Ma- noel, will be directed by Andrè Agius and performed in English by four renowned local actors: Chris Dingli, Charlotte Grech, Chiara Hyzler and Pierre Sta- frace. 'God of Carnage' is an excep- tional dark comedy and one of the most celebrated plays of the last two decades. It premiered in Zurich in 2006 before moving to Paris, where it won the Molière Award for Best Play. The play made its West End debut in 2008 starring an en- semble cast that included Ralph Fiennes, Tamsin Grieg, Ken Stott and Janet McTeer. In its Broadway debut in 2009 the cast included Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden. Since then, the play has been per- formed in theatres around the world, captivating audiences with its sharp wit and explora- tion of human behaviour. The play takes you into the world of high-stakes parental conflict which delves into the chaos that ensues when two sets of parents come together to discuss a playground quar- rel between their 11-year-old sons. As tensions rise and civility crumbles, this Olivier and To- ny award-winning play offers a hilarious and scathing com- mentary on modern social dy- namics. Don't miss this gripping ex- ploration of human nature and the thin veneer of civilization! 'God of Carnage' is on at Tea- tru Manoel from the 6 to the 9 June at 8pm. Tickets from www.teatrumanoel.mt or from Teatru Manoel's box office in Valletta. Teatru Manoel announces cast for its new production of 'God of Carnage' MCDONALD'S restaurant in Għargħur is the third Mc- Donald's restaurant in Malta featuring a Quiet Space – a dedicated room within the restaurant purposely designed for children and people with autism or other sensory dif- ficulties and equipped with noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys. McDonald's was the first restaurant in Malta to receive the Autism-Friendly accredi- tation, with the first one inau- gurated in 2022 at McDonald's MIA followed by a second one at McDonald's in St Julian's, an initiative that has recently also earned Premier Restau- rants Malta Ltd. the Malta Chamber's Bronze Award for Leadership in Inclusivity at the last Business Awards. "This latest addition of a third Quiet Space in Għargħur com- pletes this project in which we sought to provide one such space in the south, one in cen- tral Malta and now, one in the north, thus making it easier for customers to reach and ac- cess these facilities," said Pe- tre Tintoi, General Manager at Premier Restaurants Malta Ltd. McDonald's Quiet Space was designed in its entirety in con- sultation with Prisms Malta, an NGO that caters for the re- quirements of young people as well as with direct input from the Autism Parents' Associ- ation. Adequate training was also given to the respective Store Managers and McDon- ald's also appointed several Autism Ambassadors who have received specific training to be proficient in facilitating a better experience for the customers using these spaces. Dr Audrey Komri Jones, whose daughter has autism regularly accompanies her daughter to McDonald's Quiet Space. "Knowing there is a quiet space for my child where there aren't that many people and knowing that we will always find an adequate place where to sit down, helps us relax and enjoy the unique experience that McDonald's has to offer," said Ms Komri Jones. "Despite being accessible to all customers, the three Quiet Spaces at McDonald's prior- itise people with autism and sensory difficulties. These res- taurants also operate Autism Friendly hours on Mondays and Thursdays between 15:00 and 16:30, during which the entire restaurant applies dim- mer lighting and lower noise levels," Tintoi said.
