The highly anticipated event, or- ganised by the Sports and Social Committee, brought together employees for an evening of mu- sic, entertainment, and camara- derie. The historic Verdala Palace, nes- tled in the picturesque Buskett, provided a stunning backdrop for the evening's festivities. The employees were treated to an en- chanting night filled with delight- ful performances and a vibrant atmosphere. Headlining the entertainment was Musea Orchestra, a re- nowned Maltese pop orchestra known for their energetic con- certs and unique orchestral flair. Their performance captivated the audience and set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Special guest Aidan added an extra layer of excitement with a performance that left everyone in high spirits. The evening was a testament to the strong community and team spirit within the organisation. The Sports and Social Committee went above and beyond in organ- ising an event that not only cele- brated the bank's achievements but also fostered a deep sense of unity and pride among all attend- ees. As the night drew to a close, those present left with many a cherished memory and a renewed energy to clench more successes in the future. "It was a delightful evening where, as one team we celebrated 25 years of achievements in Mal- ta and Gozo. Plus, the Verdala Palace was magical, the perfor- mances outstanding; and this was a wonderful way to come together and celebrate our collective suc- cesses. This event truly highlight- ed the strong bond we share as a team," said Geoffrey Fichte, CEO at HSBC Malta. THE General Workers' Un- ion (GWU) has announced a new financial service in partnership with Em@ney plc, providing more bene- fits for its members. The service consists of a debit card system designed to make basic access to se- cure banking services easi- er and faster. Users of this debit card will enjoy con- venience, flexibility, en- hanced financial control, transaction processes, and various exclusive benefits tailored for GWU mem- bers. The launch of this new service took place at a press conference addressed by GWU Secretary General Josef Bugeja, GWU Depu- ty Secretary General Kevin Camilleri – who oversaw this project – together with Em@ney plc CEO Germano Arnò, and Bruno Soutinho, Head of Business Devel- opment and Commercial Strategy. Josef Bugeja said the GWU was promoting new servic- es and evolving to meet the aspirations of its workers and members. "Over the years, we have launched various services and ben- efits to meet the different aspirations of our members and always give them the importance deserve. The new debit card service is in- novative and unmatched by any other trade union." Bruno Soutinho explained in a presentation that the Em@ney debit card will be offered specifically to GWU members, to be used everywhere while providing users with a list of benefits, including rewards. Em@ney plc CEO Ger- mano Arnò said the debit card had been entirely de- veloped in Malta, thanks to the collaboration with Em@ ney plc, an electronic mon- ey institution operating in Malta for the past 12 years and licensed by the MFSA. "In partnership with the GWU, Em@ney invested years of research and devel- opment to create a product with two main functions: simple and secure access to banking services, and a social redistribution system that allows users to benefit from various advantages in participating stores." GWU Deputy Secretary General Kevin Camilleri thanked all those involved who had helped in seeing this project materialise, ex- pressing hope that it will be as successful as other ser- vices already offered by the union.
