Enjoy engaging in reading sessions, a diverse array of creative crafts, and so much more. Children will experience a colourful story session focusing on a different color of the rainbow each week. We will also explore fruits and vegetables that match the featured colour, discuss their importance in our daily diet and beyond. These activities are for children aged between six and 10 years. Children must be accompanied by one parent/guardian. This is because we will be using sewing needles and scissors to sew. Set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Qolla il-Bajda Battery in Xwejni Bay, this event promises to be a highlight of the summer. Headlining the festival is the sensational interna- tional singer Alexia, with incredible support from local talents including D Capitals Big Band, Ozzy Lino, Micima- go, Double G's, Mykill, and Jamie & Taryn. JULY 27 @ 23:45 - JULY 28 @ 00:45 Shades of Flames – Sannat Feast St. Margaret's Square Sannat, Gozo, Malta The Sannat Local Council, in consul- tation with the 20th July Fireworks Organisation Sannat and in collabo- ration with the Ministry for Gozo and Planning and Cultural Heritage Direc- torate, will host a unique ground fire- work display in St. Margaret Square. This event, themed with music from the eighties and nineties, will feature an original spectacle. The display will culminate in an unparalleled finale, showcasing synchronised rooftop and ground fireworks, all perfectly timed to the music. JULY 28 @ 18:30 - 23:30 Lejla Għawdxija Qala Square Triq San Guzepp, Qala, Malta Lejla Għawdxija is a local event cel- ebrating the traditions of the past in the modern era. Bring your family and friends to enjoy and reminisce about traditional Gozitan cuisine, arts and crafts. Experience folk singers (għan- nejja) and folk dance, a wide variety of activities for children and so much more. Join us for a memorable evening honouring Gozitan heritage! JULY 29 @ 20:30 - 23:00 Opera vs Pop Under The Stars – 16th Edition Ggantija Archaeological Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site Triq Otto Bayer, Xagħra, Gozo, Malta The Gozo Youth Orchestra within The Gozo Youth Wind Band & Orchestra kick-starts its annual Summer events with the 16th Edition of Opera vs Pop Under the Stars. This highly expected orchestral music galore spectacle will be held once again at the Ggantija Ar- chaeological Park on Monday 29th July 2024 at 8.30p.m. This year's edition will include guest singer Pamela Cibrano (New York, US), the original soprano who took part in the first 12 editions of this annual concert event. She will join our present resident soprano Nicola Said – Soprano (Malta/UK) and guest soprano Francesca Power – Sopra- no (UK). Resident singers Bass Noel Galea (Gozo, Malta), Pop Tenor Ludwig Galea (Malta) and Pop Singer Sarah Bonnici (Gozo, Malta) as well as upcoming musical theatre singer Tara Azar (UK) will team up to present an astounding evening in the unique set- ting of Ggantija. The concert consists of arias, duets and orchestral excerpts from the opera world in the first part while shifting to a lighter style reper- toire spanning from musical theatre, soundtracks and pop music in the second part. The Gozo Youth Or- chestra will be under the direction of its founder and musical director Mro Dr Joseph Grech. As in previous years this event is held in conjunction with the US Embassy to Malta and under the distinguished patronage of Ms Constance J. Milstein, U.S. Ambassador to Malta. Limited number of places are available (on a first-come-first-served basis) and special logistic arrangements are being adhered to safeguard this site. What's happening in Gozo this week
