Magro Brothers have other planned activities to continue commemorating this important and well-loved Maltese Heritage Brand before this milestone year ends . . .. . so, stay tuned! Marsovin releases Grand Maître 2022 MARSOVIN Winery proudly announc- es the release of Grand Maître 2022, 'Fra' Manuel Pinto de Fonseca'. This vintage marks the 25th edition of the much- loved flagship wine, produced with ex- pertise, finesse and dedication since its first vintage in 1998. Produced under the exclusive appoint- ment of the Maltese Association Sov- ereign Military Order of Malta, Grand Maître is an exceptional wine that pays homage to a different Grand Master in chronological order. The 2022 vintage honours the esteemed Fra' Manuel Pinto de Fonseca. Grand Maître is a true testament to Marsovin's commitment to excellence. The handpicked Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes originate from Għajn Riħana, Marsovin's private estate located in the breathtaking Ghajn Rihana Valley. The terroir provides the perfect environment for the growth of these noble French grape varieties, with 10,000 vines thriving in arid land and clay-rich calcareous soil. "Grand Maitre symbolizes Marsovin's commitment and passion to winemaking and viticulture as well as its to appreci- ation and respect toward the Sovereign military order of Malta." stated Jeremy Cassar CEO and 4th Generation of the Cassar family. The 2022 vintage was characterised by dry, warm weather with above-av- erage temperatures throughout most months. Annual rainfall was extremely low, barely reaching 400mm. June and July experienced long heatwaves, but the year had more sunlight than usual. The late bud burst was offset by the warmer late spring and summer conditions and increased sun exposure. As a result, the vintage produced excellent red grapes with high alcohol potential, concentrat- ed polyphenols, and exceptional com- plexity. Deep in ruby colour, with con- centrated aromas of black cherry and black plum, balanced by elements of sweet spice and cedar. The palate is very structured, with velvety tannins and a full body, ending on notes of vanilla and blackberries. Most facilities the student-athletes will be using to practice their sport are located on campus including two football fields, an athletics, a 25-meter swimming pool com- plex, a performance science centre which includes state-of-the art rehabilitation clin- ics, a gymnastics hall, a martial arts hall, a multisport pavilion and a fitness centre. Additionally, the complex also includes a childcare and kindergarten centre as well as accommodation facilities for internation- al students as well as nurseries and teams organizing retreats and training camps for their athletes and coaches. The school and new facilities were built following the signing of an agreement be- tween the Vassallo Group and the Jesuit Society who run St Aloysius College whose students will also be able to use most of the facilities.
