OCTOBER 18 @ 19:00 - 21:00 Tombla Night Ċentru Munxar Join us with family and friends for an enjoyable evening filled with tombola OCTOBER 18 @ 19:30 - 21:00 Opera Tua Għasri Church, Gozo Schola Cantorum Jubilate will be hosting the Imperial Male Voice Choir. Each choir will sing some of its favour- ite pieces from its repertoire and will join forces in some powerful, uplifting choral pieces by composers such as Bruckner and Vaughan Williams. The two choirs will be directed by Marous- ka Attard and Deborah Miles-John- son. Conductor Miles- Johnson is a mezzo-soprano who has performed and recorded with The Sixteen and the Tallis Scholars. She was the vocal coach of the BBC Symphony Chorus and is a member of the Royal Opera House Chorus. OCTOBER 19 @ 11:00 - 12:30 Frank Mercieca: A Friend of Nature and Literature Il-Ħaġar Gozo Museum A dairy foreman, Frank Mercieca was born in Victoria on the 30th August 1973. He studied in Malta, Lebanon, Estonia, Scotland and Denmark . Later in life, he dedicated himself to agri- culture and the study of the Maltese language. He wrote numerous articles in local papers debating recent changes in Maltese ortography and grammar. He also wrote poetry. A key figure in St. George's Square, Mercieca was al- ways surrounded by an attentive group of friends debating current affairs, history, and of course, the Maltese language. He passed away on the 9th of November 2011. OCTOBER 19 @ 11:00 - 12:30 Ta' Sannat Għana Fest Pjazzetta Cocco Palmieri, Ta' Sannat Join us for an evening of traditional Maltese folk songs with improvised 'spirtu pront' performances by talented singers and the Seguna Folk Group, accompanied by a delightful wine and pizza night. OCTOBER 19 @ 19:30 C.I.D. – Farsa Fi Tliet Atti Fit-Teatru MBC, in-Nadur The Nadur and Youth Centre is set to host an evening of laughter with a comedy sketch performed by local youths. This event aims to revitalise theatre with homegrown talent, offer- ing a platform for emerging performers and creating new opportunities for youth to showcase their skills. Surrounded by lush countryside, Dahlet Qorrot is a favoured area among hikers, and the beach makes for a refreshing stop-off on any country walk. Superb for swimming and snorkelling, the bay's sheltered waters are teeming with spectacular sea life, whilst its intriguing caves make it a hit among divers too. One of Daħlet Qorrot's most unique features has to be its caves, serving as boathouses, each with its own colourful door, still very much in use by local fishermen. With smooth flat rocks and a quayside to recline on, there is certainly heaps of space for sunbathing too.
