Micallef is expected to implement a structure and strategy within the Authority to address the priorities identified by the AIMS Board while launching educational campaigns to strengthen the Authority's efforts among gen- erations whilst safeguarding a healthy sports environment in the country. He served as a Member of Parliament who contributed to the establishment of AIMS back in 2022 and has held various administrative roles in sports associations and pursued a ca- reer as an athlete in athletics. Micallef is an entrepreneur and broadcaster by profession, entrusted with leading private companies and projects in the broadcasting, advertising, marketing, and catering sectors. The priority declared by the new CEO is to position the Authority in closer collaboration with all stakeholders involved to become more efficient while simplifying the legal compliancy processes for Sports federations and associa- tions. During his first meeting with the Authori- ty's employees in the presence of the Author- ity's Board members led by Chairman, Judge Emeritus Antonio Mizzi, the new CEO stated that he will work to enhance operations with a more dynamic structure that delivers re- sults for the sporting community while raising greater awareness through education among the Maltese society in the ongoing fight against match-fixing/manipulation and doping in sport. Micallef said that at the same time, the Au- thority will safeguard every athlete from other abuses in sports facilities across the Maltese is- lands and will work restlessly to ensure Malta achieves success in upholding sports integrity standards despite the existing challenges. Jean Claude Micallef appointed CEO at AIMS MCESD Task Force Talks continue on Malta's Vision 2050 APS Bank has announced that Scott Lee Holloway, Senior Customer Experience Manager at the Bank, has been appointed to the Global Board of Directors of the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CX- PA) as of 1 January 2025. CXPA is an independent, global non-profit organisa- tion dedicated to advancing the customer experience (CX) profession. It supports the field by publishing the CXPA CX Book of Knowledge, offer- ing the Certified Customer Ex- perience Professional (CCXP) credential, and uniting mem- bers from over 70 countries worldwide. Greg Melia, CAE, CEO of the Customer Experience Profes- sionals Association, comment- ed: "Scott was selected from a competitive group of candi- dates for this role because of his knowledge, passion, and commitment to supporting great customer experienc- es, both through his work at APS Bank and his leadership in the CX community. The meeting, which followed the recent MCESD Council session where the Government presented its groundwork and social partners offered valuable feedback, focused on key prior- ities shaping the Vision 2050's methodology. "This process within MCESD is proving to be a dynamic collaboration between social partners to ensure that Malta's Vision 2050 reflects the aspi- rations of the inhabitants of this country," said the MCESD Chairperson, Perit David Xuer- eb. "Our goal is to support the development of a framework that stands the test of time and safeguards Malta's authenticity for generations to come." Task Force members brought forward important insights, emphasising the need to ad- dress pressing challenges such as climate change, economic sustainability, resource secu- rity, and the evolving demo- graphics. Discussions also focused on the critical importance of safeguarding Gozo's distinct identity, prioritising sustaina- ble development that enables economic opportunity through ecological and cultural preser- vation. The meeting also includ- ed discussions on the Mario Draghi Report, specifically un- derlining its relevance to Mal- ta's Vision goals and method- ology. Other key insights included the importance of skills, plan- ning systems, the urgency of addressing food and water se- curity in the light of global dis- ruptions, the development of scalable and innovative green and digital models and other thematic priorities that should be underpinned by sustainable competitivity with the people's wellbeing at the centre of all decision making. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Task Force to an open, transparent, pro- fessional, and inclusive pro- cess, ensuring that Vision 2050 integrates innovative solutions and reflects Malta's unique strengths and challenges. With its forward-thinking approach, the MCESD Malta Vision 2050 Task Force contin- ues to play a critical role to re- assure that national aspirations and ambitions are suitably re- flected in this important initia- tive in Malta's history.
