Although trapping is completely prohibit- ed in spring, CABS teams were able to film a total of 19 poachers pursuing their illegal hobby. All offenders were filmed in the act and sub- sequently reported to the police. Gozo minister Clint Camilleri said that Gozo Channel Ltd. is at the moment con- sidering various technologies which could power the new vessel in a more environ- mentally friendly way, including the possi- ble hybrid technologies which would ena- ble partial powering by alternative means. Whilst full green powering is also being considered, the most plausible technology would be diesel powered engines together with batteries - possibly with the option of full battery powered conversion in the fu- ture.
