Vision 2050: Malta aims
for hi-tech future, higher
incomes and land expansion
MALTA will reach the median dispos-
able income of France within the next
decade, according to an ambitious vi-
sion unveiled by the government today.
Dubbed Vision 2050, the long-term
plan contains 90 initiatives that include
teaching AI in schools, large-scale land
reclamation, building a third terminal
at the Freeport, scaling up semiconduc-
tor and generic pharmaceutical pro-
duction, developing an airport cargo
terminal and a mass transport system.

ANDREW Robert Coles, a court expert em-
ployed as part of the magisterial inquiry into
the hospitals concession, testified on Tues-
day that he was sub-contracted by Jeremy
Harbinson to work on the report.
Coles also testified that he did not swea
under oath over his involvement in com-
piling the report.
Proceedings in which various freezing
orders related to the hospitals concession
are being challenged continued on Tuesday
morning before the court presided over by
Madam Justice Edwina Grima.
