9 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 21 MAY 2025 CULTURE ZiguZajg is offering a new arts and theatre summer programme for Children ŻIGUŻAJG'S Summer Programme is back and better than ever, with two ex- citing initiatives packed with art, the- atre, and all things creative. With the Art Jam Summer Bootcamp and Young Cavaliers Theatre Programme, children aged seven and up can immerse them- selves in everything from painting, cu- ration, and imaginative exploration to costume-making, storytelling, and set design. The Young Cavaliers Summer Theatre Programme enhances your child's cre- ative journey by immersing them in the magical world of theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes. Over six weeks, participants will dive into acting, sto- rytelling, set and costume design, and more, nurturing a love for theatre in ex- citingly participative ways. Alongside de- veloping their artistic skills, children will also build teamwork, self-confidence, and resilience in a safe and encourag- ing environment surrounded by experi- enced mentors and like-minded peers. Each week focuses on a different aspect of theatre, from performance to design, ensuring a whimsical and enjoyable time. The programme culminates in a final performance at Spazju Kreattiv's iconic round theatre, where young participants showcase their hard work, bringing their creative visions from page to stage. Leading this initiative is none other than Lara Agius, an accomplished actor, storyteller, and teacher whose experi- ence creates a freeing and dynamic envi- ronment where children learn by doing, boost their confidence, and unleash their creativity. If your young one is more drawn to the world of visual arts, the Art Jam Summer Bootcamp is the perfect fit. These hands- on activities, led by Ryan Galea, encour- age children to explore their personal ar- tistic voice, develop new techniques, and draw inspiration from both local and in- ternational artists. Through six engaging workshops, participants will experiment with a variety of media, create unique works, and prepare their pieces for a final public exhibition, giving them the thrill of presenting their creations to an au- dience and building their artistic confi- dence. At the end, their art creations will be showcased in an exhibition at one of the Spazju Kreattiv galleries at St James Cavalier. These two programmes can be joined separately or together in one bundle. For added convenience, parents can also re- quest extra hours: an additional hour in the morning (8:00–9:00 AM) or in the afternoon (12:00–1:00 PM) to better ac- commodate work schedules. This summer at ŻiguŻajg promises a joyful, expressive, and creative adven- ture like no other. Whether your child dreams of stepping onto the stage or showcasing their artwork in an exhibi- tion, they'll enjoy an unforgettable expe- rience filled with laughter, discovery, and personal growth. Let them explore their passions, make new friends, and create lasting summer memories in an environ- ment that celebrates their individuality and imagination.
