5 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 23 MAY 2025 NEWS Nadur local council secures funding aimed at enhancing quality of life THE Nadur local council announced it has secured funding under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (2014-2020), through Measure 19.2 - Sub-Measure 4, aimed at en- hancing the quality of life in Gozo and making the island more attractive for young people and families. Through this initiative, the local council, with the as- sistance of the Gozo Action Group Foundation and acting on behalf of the Nadur Teen Youth Center, has completed the installation of three sto- reys of high-quality steel rail- ing — a project that directly contributes to the safety, ac- cessibility, and aesthetic ap- peal of the youth center. This investment is part of the Council's broader com- mitment to fostering an in- clusive and vibrant commu- nity environment for Nadur's younger generation, particu- larly through the use of EU funds. By upgrading infrastructure and improving public spac- es, the Council continues to deliver on its mission of cre- ating a more livable, secure, and youth-friendly locality. In collaboration with the Gozo Action Group Foundation and the Nadur Local Council, this investment strengthens our commitment to cultural growth, safety, and youth en- gagement in our community. all began in Gozo Mini-Art Workshops by Veronica Veen On Saturday, October 21, starting at 12:00 PM, Inanna Publishers will host mini-art workshops at stand 12. Each workshop will last 15 minutes and participants will have the oppor- tunity to create their own bookmark inspired by the First Maltese. Inanna Publishers Stand Inanna Publishers will have a stand (Stand 12) throughout the Festival, where visitors can learn more about Veronica Veen's work and the history of Gozo's early settlers. The Festival provides an excellent opportunity to engage with the author and explore her extensive research on women's history in Malta. DURING an activity organised by Missio Malta at San Andrea School, children of different ages had the opportunity to learn about the value of diver- sity and the importance of ap- preciating one another. The activity marked the World Day for Cultural Diver- sity for Dialogue and Develop- ment, as part of a continuous programme of similar events that Missio Malta prepares to raise awareness about its missionary work. Robert Farrugia, Head of Communications and Fund- raising at Missio Malta, said that this programme of ac- tivities is central to Missio's mission, as it brings the ex- tensive work done by Missio volunteers around the world to young students and inspires them to continue along this path. The activity at San Andrea School was just the latest in a series of diversitythemed events that Missio Malta or- ganises throughout the year in schools across Malta and Gozo.
