THE Nationalist Party has not yet filed its donation re- port for 2024 but publicly available information shows it collected €1.6 million from TV marathons last year. The absence of a donation report makes it impossible to know whether the PN re- ceived any donations above €7,000 that would require the identification of the donor. The law obliges political par- ties to publicly identify do- nors who donate €7,000 and more. Information sourced from the public domain by Mal- taToday shows that the PN organised six fund raising tel- ethons between March and December 2024. MaltaToday is informed that an alter- cation took place in Aquilina's home that prompted the police officer on fixed point outside his house to inter- vene. A police report was subsequently filed against Aquilina. This newspaper understands that the duty magistrate refused a request for Aquilina's arrest. Instead, Aquilina was summoned to the police headquar- ters in Floriana on Saturday afternoon, where he was questioned at length. Aquilina did not release a comment when approached by MaltaToday. Aquilina was assisted by lawyer Arthur Azzopardi. Political parties are required by law to present their yearly donation report and statement of accounts to the Electoral Commission, which after vetting, publishes them on its website for public scrutiny. The PN has failed to adhere to the law since 2021 CONTINUES ON PAGES 2-3
