maltatoday | SUNDAY • 1 JUNE 2025 7 COMMERCIAL Farsons Group reports strong performance, announces strategic milestones for future growth THE Board of Directors of Far- sons Group announces another year of solid financial and op- erational performance for the year ended 31 January 2025. The Group delivered growth across both its Beverage and Food seg- ments, driven by targeted stra- tegic initiatives and sustained investment in operational ef- ficiency and innovation. Reve- nue from the Beverage segment reached €101.8 million, while the Food segment generated revenues of €39.3 million. This increase in revenue was accom- panied by an even stronger im- provement in profitability, with Group profit after tax rising by 21.9% to €18.6 million. These results underscore the strength and resilience of the Group's business model and reflect its ongoing commitment to deliv- ering long-term value for share- holders. Throughout the year, Far- sons benefited from a rela- tively stable domestic market, although broader geopolitical and economic challenges—such as global supply chain disrup- tions, freight inflation, and la- bour shortages—continued to exert pressure. Despite these external headwinds, the Group maintained strong momentum through cost containment ef- forts, refined business strategies, and operational agility. The Beverage segment re- corded improved operating performance, underpinned by enhancements in brewing and bottling efficiency and over- all cost containment, while the Food segment continued to benefit from a sharpened focus on its franchised restaurant op- erations and selective network optimisation. The Group's abil- ity to adapt to shifting consumer trends and navigate a competi- tive marketplace has reinforced its market position. A highlight of the year was the launch of several strategic capi- tal projects designed to support future growth. These include the development of a state-of-the- art logistics and office complex in Handaq to serve the Food business, and an automated re- turnable packaging facility at the Group's Mrieħel site aimed at driving greater circularity and operational efficiency. The Group also made further strides on its sustainability agen- da, including investments in re- newable energy infrastructure, the replacement of fleet vehicles with environmentally compliant alternatives, and the implemen- tation of a CO₂ recovery plant, scheduled to become operation- al in the second half of 2025. The Group announced in No- vember 2024 a strategic step in its ongoing evolution with the planned Spin-Off of its Food Business into a separate legal en- tity, Quinco Holdings plc, which would be listed on the Malta Stock Exchange (MSE). Having grown steadily across the beverages, property, and food sectors over the past dec- ades, the Group has seen con- sistent year-on-year growth in its Food Business, even amidst market and economic pressures. Following a strategic review concluded in 2024, the Board has determined that the Food Business is now well-positioned for further expansion as an inde- pendent, focused entity.
