London Tech Week is the UK's premier technology fes- tival, bringing together inter- national industry leaders, in- novators, and disruptors. Concept Stadium representing Malta at London Tech Week 2025 Marsaxlokk primary school students visit Delimara Power Station on World Environment Day Lorraine Borg, Chief Brand Officer together with Jonathan Dalli, Founder and CEO of Concept Stadium at London Tech Week 2025 IN celebration of World Envi- ronment Day, a group of stu- dents from Marsaxlokk Prima- ry School visited the Delimara Power Station as part of a special educational initiative organised in collaboration with the Marsax- lokk Local Council, Marsaxlokk Primary School, and ElectroGas Malta Ltd. The visit offered students a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of Malta's key energy facilities, with a focus on the station's commit- ment to cleaner, more sustaina- ble energy solutions. This unique opportunity aimed to enhance students' understanding of en- vironmental responsibility and sustainable development in a re- al-world context. Speaking about the initiative, ElectroGas Malta CEO, Jorge Perez, remarked: "Welcoming the students of Marsaxlokk Primary School to our facility on World Environment Day is a privilege. The transition from heavy fuel oil to liquefied natural gas (LNG) has had a significant positive impact on Malta's air quality and carbon emissions. At ElectroGas, we be- lieve that showing young people how these changes make a real difference is crucial. Education is the foundation for a sustainable future, and we are proud to con- tribute to that journey." The Mayor of Marsaxlokk, Ste- ven Grech, added that this initi- ative is a wonderful example of community collaboration. "Our Local Council is grateful to Elec- troGas for donating books to the Marsaxlokk Library which will be enjoyed by all the people that fre- quent the library. This is a great initiative which the council fully supports and encourages other entities to follow into their exam- ple. The council thanks Electro- Gas for this initiative." Elaine Baldacchino, Head of Marsaxlokk Primary School, ex- pressed her gratitude for the ex- perience. "We are truly grateful to ElectroGas Malta Ltd for wel- coming our students on World Environment Day. This visit was an incredible opportunity for them to learn firsthand about sustainable energy and the im- portance of protecting our envi- ronment. Experiences like these are vital in shaping informed, responsible citizens. We sincere- ly thank ElectroGas not only for their generous donation to our school and the wider communi- ty, but also for investing in the education of future generations. We look forward to continuing this valuable collaboration in the years ahead." To further support environ- mental education in the local community, ElectroGas Malta donated a selection of books re- lated to the environment to the Marsaxlokk Local Council, which will be made available at the Marsaxlokk Library. Additional- ly, ceiling fans have been donat- ed for installation in the school's main hall, improving comfort for students and staff during warmer months. Educational initiative highlights the importance of sustainability and energy education
