6 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 29 JUNE 2025 COMMERCIAL Danijel Bogdanovic claims top spot at 2025 Homes Of Quality Golf Tournament THE ninth edition of the Homes of Qual- ity Golf Tournament, held in collabora- tion with the Royal Malta Golf Club, teed off over the weekend of 20–22 June 2025. A much-anticipated fixture on the local golfing calendar, this year's tournament once again saw impressive participation across both the men's and ladies' catego- ries. After three days of strong competition, Danijel Bogdanovic emerged as the over- all tournament champion with 83 points, securing the coveted grand prize: a luxu- ry golfing weekend for two in Italy, com- plete with flights, accommodation, and green fees. The competition was a mixed stable- ford competition played over two rounds. Eighty people played Round 1 which was played on Friday and Saturday with the top 48 scores playing in Round 2 on Sun- day, 22 June. This was followed by lunch and an awards presentation at the Putters Inn. The tournament and prizes were sponsored by Homes of Quality, a mem- ber of the Frank Salt Real Estate Group. Additional accolades were awarded to Leslie White with 78 points, who took home the title of Best Man, and Giti Adibi with 81 points, who secured the Best Lady trophy. William Lovqvist was named run- ner-up with 82 points. Presenting the awards were Lady Cap- tain Stephanie Sciberras, Homes of Qual- ity Manager Alex Papagiorcopulo, and Mr Frank Salt, all of whom congratulated the winners and thanked participants for another memorable edition of the tour- nament. Speaking after the event, Alex Papagior- copulo commented: "What a fantastic weekend it was! The energy, the sportsmanship, and the turn- out were all incredible. We're proud to have once again supported this event, now in its 17th year. The tournament has become a staple on the local golfing scene, and we're honoured to offer one of the most prestigious prizes of the year. Supporting local sports is something we deeply value. These communities thrive through sponsorship and active engage- ment." Golf has remained a beloved pastime in Malta since the 1920s, offering a unique blend of recreation, focus, and camara- derie. Events like this reflect Homes of Quality's continued commitment to the local sporting scene, along with broader corporate and social responsibility initi- atives the Frank Salt Real Estate Group support year-round. Presenting the awards were Lady Captain Stephanie Sciberras, Homes of Quality Manager Alex Papagiorcopulo, and Mr Frank Salt Top electronic acts to headline Sustain-Delay's summer season SUSTAIN-DELAY, the Malta Society of Arts' Performing Arts Programme, wel- comes another season of adventurous mu- sic, launching on 5 July 2025. Sustain-Delay is known for pushing the boundaries of Malta's listening audiences, while allowing people to slowly dip their toes into genres less commonly explored in in the island's sonic landscape. Taking place at Hideout in Pembroke (right next to the BMX ware- house), the two events will combine local staples with veterans of noise and ambient. Starting with Total Scuzz on 5 July, the first of Sustain-Delay's two-part summer season opens with Maltese artist Volph, a producer and DJ who has been navigating the local electronic scene for over 20 years. Among his many laurels, Volph has been featured in the lineups of both GLITCH Festival and Earth Garden, and has pub- lished releases on Wirebox Records and Bass Agenda Recordings. Volph will be followed by a set by Alien Montesin, whose distinctly Maltese yet out- of-this-world style has taken Malta's party scene by storm through her distinct hyp- notic beats. From Alien Montesin's intergalactic ad- ventures through electronic music, we move onto the headliner Container, an artist from Ohio who has been a staple on the underground music scene for decades. Known for his abrasive, rhythmic music that blends DIY techno, stripped-down electro, noise and funk with a punk ethos, Container is known for his high-energy live sets – tight, intense, yet always danceable. As the heat continues to rise on the Mal- tese Islands, Sustain-Delay will bring in the breeze with A Resonant Forever on 2 Au- gust. The second and final event of the summer is headlined by Huerco S., based in Brook- lyn (New York), who brings a calm ambient energy that gradually melds into smooth, inventive beats. A pioneer in a genre of his own making, Huerco S.' album For Those of You Who Have Never was lauded by Pitchfork Magazine as one of their top 50 albums of all time. Two locals will support Huerco S. Starting with Giaçinté, part of the duo behind the highly acclaimed MAGMA underground events, he will present a hybrid DJ-live set – a dynamic amalgamation of live electronic music and carefully curated tracks, result- ing in the fluid and engaging musical narra- tive he is known for. The second opener, Son Of, is a Rotter- dam-based Maltese artist known for craft- ing intricate compositions that blend ex- perimental textures with strong rhythmic elements, and for creating immersive audi- tory experiences. This night promises to be a seamless fu- sion of ambient atmospheres and poised, engrossing beats. It also reflects the broad- er spirit of Sustain-Delay – a platform that continuously opens new sonic experiences to local audiences while welcoming inter- national artists into the fold. "At the Malta Society of Arts, we believe in supporting bold, forward-thinking pro- gramming that invites audiences to listen differently," says MSA President Adrian Mamo. "Sustain-Delay exemplifies our commitment to fostering artistic risk, in- novation, and meaningful cultural encoun- ters." Sustain-Delay 2025 is produced by the Malta Society of Arts and Artistic Director Kurt Buttigieg, in collaboration with Arts Council Malta and is sponsored by Rock'N Malta (Festivals Malta).
