SUMMERIN GOZO JULY - SEPTEMBER '25 FOR PROGRAMME SCAN QR CODE 7 gozotoday | FRIDAY • 18 JULY 2025 CULTURE after the sun goes down Gozo's top summer club, perched dramat- ically in a cliffside setting with open-air dance floors, has been a legendary venue for partygoers since 1986. For true party lovers, nothing beats dancing under a star- lit sky. The summer months are also the peak season for parties, open-air festivals and boat parties. Chill alternatives such as wine bars in Victoria, live music venues and seafront lounges in Mġarr, Marsalforn and Xlendi stay open until late at night. Summer nights in Gozo are all about the outdoors. Evening concerts in the open air happen throughout the season, and some of the events are a regular weekly occurrence at specific villages and squares. The village feasts mark Gozo's summer nights. The traditional feast the village's patron saint is synonymous with grand celebrations inside and outside the church. It is an event that draws out all the villag- ers. Once the church services are over in the early evening hours, the focus shifts to the outside festivities, where tradition- al bands march through the streets along with the cheering crowd of youths. The atmosphere is rendered spectacular with fireworks. Fireworks displays are typical on the island of Gozo and are a signature of many of the village's feasts. It is easy to join in the fun of the Gozitan feasts. Street food and various food stalls are typically available, but you can even find a seating spot at the village restaurants or bars in the main square. Naturally, night-time stints are more comfortable when one has rented trans- port. If you're planning your movements around the island, it's essential to know that public transport operates until 11 p.m. However, taxis and other ride-hail- ing services will always cover late night escapades. Maybe you're after chasing the sunsets and the unique twilight atmosphere that follows, or maybe you want to bask in the scenic night views or capture the thrill of nighttime adventures. Gozo by night of- fers a vibrant contrast to its sunlit days. The charm doesn't fade at sunset; in- stead, the island transforms, inviting visi- tors to mingle with the locals and experi- ence the magic of Mediterranean nights. Village festa
