He said this is not just an enter- tainment event but will also serve as a platform to bring the local community together and raise fur- ther awareness about the agricul- tural sector, food production, and Gozo's traditional heritage. Entrance to the event is free and will include children's games, tra- ditional food and drinks, Maltese music and folklore, as well as exhi- bitions of antique machinery and traditional crafts — all recalling the agricultural and cultural histo- ry of the locality and the country. For his part, Kerċem Mayor Mario Azzopardi expressed satis- faction that the locality of Kerċem will be hosting another edition of this event. "This event is growing from year to year and is attracting families from around Gozo and Malta," he said. "We thank the Ministry for its continuous support and all the workers contributing to making 'In the Shadow of the Aqueduct' a successful event." Refalo said that these types of initiatives are crucial for contin- uing to strengthen the connection between the community and the agricultural sector and for keeping our identity as a people alive. The event is being jointly organ- ised by the Ministry for Agricul- ture, Fisheries and Animal Rights and the Kerċem Local Council.
