The design enhances the original structure's proportions through
arched windows that choreograph natural light, animating interior
spaces and creating shifting atmospheres throughout the day. Steel
railings, referencing traditional wrought ironwork, offer a contemporary
reinterpretation of classical detailing, bridging the building's heritage
and modernity.
Inside, the interiors are defined by warmth and restraint, allowing
structural elements and architectural interventions to take centre stage.
Green columns, pink beams, and soft curves punctuate
neutral backdrops, highlighting the careful balance
between form, function, and materiality. The rhythmic
interplay of light, shadow, and colour reinforces the
dialogue between historic context and contemporary
intervention.
Outdoor spaces continue this architectural narrative, with
terraces and communal areas that extend the interior
experience while framing views of Mellieħa Bay. Each
space is carefully composed, integrating form, texture,
and proportion to create a cohesive and engaging
environment.
